These 10 States Have Anti-Gay Laws That Are Almost Identical To Russia’s Horrible Policies! See What’s On The Books Right Here In The U.S.A.!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayLegal MattersPolitik

usa blank map russia doodle

The whole world is watching Russia right now, not only because of the Winter Olympic games currently underway in Sochi, but because of the nation’s new laws prohibiting “gay propaganda.”

That makes any talk about LGBT rights in a public forum illegal!

But you don’t need to go to Russia to find ridiculous anti-gay laws that strip citizens of their freedom of speech. Nope, that’s happening right here in America too, folks!

10 United States currently have some form of a ban on promoting homosexuality!

Often called “no promo homo” laws can be found in 8 states: Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah all prohibit schools from teaching about gay rights in the classroom! Some don't allow mentioning homosexuality at all!

Arizona prohibits portrayals of homosexuality as a “positive alternative life-style” and has legislatively determined that it is inappropriate to even suggest to children that there are “safe methods of homosexual sex.” Texas and Alabama take it a step further with sex-education classes that emphasize homosexuality as “not a lifestyle acceptable to the general public.” They also require that children be taught that “homosexual conduct is a criminal offense” even though criminalizing private, consensual homosexual conduct has been unconstitutional since 2003.

Missouri and South Dakota on the other hand have prohibition of enumeration on their books, which doesn’t allow school districts from enacting policies aimed at preventing bullying over sexual orientation or gender identity.

This is happening in America…

The social injustices in Russia are much more far-reaching, with penalties and acts of violence that are putting gay and LGBT supporters at serious risk. But to see indoctrinated hate happening in the “land of the free” makes us sick to our stomachs.

If you call one of these 10 states home, pick up the phone and call your elected representative and tell them you don’t want to live in a place that makes intolerance a legal requirement. Speak up! Not only because you can but because you should!

These despicable laws will someday die; that we’re sure of. But that day should come as soon as possible!

Sorry, but I'm proud to be from a state (Arizona) that still has anti- gay laws! I don't agree with teaching children about gays or safe gay sex. Why should we pollute their minds?? It's Adam and Eve… NOT Adam and Steve!!

  3. 3

It's hard to educate people sometimes… one day they will get something so simple that humans we come in different ways … such as … Black, White, Tall , Short, Woman, Man, Intelligent, stupid, heterosexual, homosexual, … etc. etc. etc. It can't be that hard to understand it !

This makes absolutely no since. I am from Texas and have grown up here. Being 20 years old I have never been taught that gay relations are a "crime". How can you comment on a state when you haven't grown up here or gone to school here. In Texas if you are raised in a typical Texan family (like I was). Then yes you are normally brought up to not believe in gay relations. This is how our parents and grandparents are raised. Therefore they raise their kids the same. There is nothing in the school system's that says it is a crime to be gay. Anybody from Texas will agree with me on this. Seriously, stop shoving your gay beliefs down other peoples throats. Nobody cares if you are gay, just stop bragging about it constantly and act like a normal person.

Yeah right humans come in different packages, black, tall, short, fair, homosexual, heterosexual, murderer, theif, rapist, serial killer…. you know? and the list goes on and on and on.. I mean If they would may gay relationships legal.. what stops them from legalizing everything else and calling it a safe alternate way of living.. maybe when someone rapes your daughter, then you may feel bad about the law makers.. In the end, we cannot use the intellectual to make right wrong or vice versa, they are just what they are.. I mean no amount of books written could make 1 + 1 = 3… in the end, you only need stones to prove all the books wrong.. Simple..

9 out of 10 americans cant name cant name all those states on an unlabeled map. Utah, i believe also outlaws the teaching of sex ed to heterosexuals (i'm too lazy to double check that). Its a catch 22. If you want eliminate anti gay laws… you have to eliminate and outlaw religion (where the indoctrination of homophobia generally comes from) but then you'd be oppressing religious expression which is the same as oppressing gays. Funny catch 22.
Look. here is the facts: the bible condemns homosexuality. Until the society condemns the bible, there is ZERO chance the world will rid itself of homophobia 100%. I love gays, personally, but… i have no power to turn all humans into high IQ atheists with an open mind to genetics and the possibility homosexuality is caused by something in the DNA

  20. 20

Re: VerdadRe: Verdad – The bible is so fucked up wrong, it makes my head turn. i'm gonna show some discrepancies FROM THE FIRST CHAPTER OF GENESIS!!! HOLD YOURSELF! 1) The Genesis 1 creation account conflicts with the order of events that are known to science. Genesis 1:1 The earth is created before light and stars, birds and whales before reptiles and insects, and flowering plants before any animals. From science, we know that the true order of events was just the opposite.

    2) “And God said, Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3) and “. . .And the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1 :5), versus “And God said, ‘Let there be light in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night….’ “And God made two lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also… And the evening and morning were the fourth day” (Genesis 1 :14-19). These violates two major facts. Light cannot exist without a sun, and secondly, how can morning be distinguished from evening unless there is a sun and moon? Christians try to claim that god is the light he is referring to yet, considering the context it is quite obvious that the light god is speaking of is the light emitted by the sun. Just another feeble attempt at trying to rationalize such a MAJOR blunder.

  21. 21

    3) God spends one-sixth of his entire creative effort (the second day) working on a solid firmament (Genesis 1:6-8). This strange structure, which God calls heaven, is intended to separate the higher waters from the lower waters. This firmament, if it existed, would have been quite an obstacle to our space program.

    4) Plants are made on the third day (Genesis 1:11) before there was a sun to drive their photosynthetic processes (Genesis 1:14-19).

  22. 22

    5) “And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind… ‘And the evening and the morning were the third day” (Genesis 1:11-13), versus “And God said, ‘Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life… And God created - great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly… And the evening and the morning were the fifth day” (Genesis 1:20-23). Genesis says that life existed first on the land as plants and later the seas teemed with living creatures. Geological science can prove that the sea teemed with animals and vegetable life long before vegetation and life appeared on land.

    6) “And God said, ‘Let the water bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven” (Genesis 1:20). Birds did not emerge from water.

  23. 23

    9) “And to every beast of the earth, and every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so” (Genesis 1:30). Carnivorous beasts and fowl do not eat green herbs, nor were all animals originally herbivores. Simply consider tapeworms, vampire bats, mosquitoes, barracudas, tigers, etc.

    10) In Genesis 1, the entire creation takes 6 days (Genesis 1:31), at the end of which the earth and its living things are pretty much as they are today. But we know from modern science that the universe (including the earth and life on earth) evolved slowly over billions of years.

    11) In Genesis 2:7 humans are created instantaneously from dust and breath, whereas they actually evolved over millions of years from simpler life forms. Science can in fact trace back human evolution CONCLUSIVELY 3 .2 million years.

  24. 24

    12) God makes the animals (Genesis 2:18) and parades them before Adam to see if any would strike his fancy. But none seem to have what it takes to please him. After making the animals, God has Adam name them all. The naming of several million species must have kept Adam busy for a while, why Adam would still have to be living for we haven’t even discovered nor named all the species. Also consider the idea of every living creature being brought to the Middle East, that would have killed many animals due to climatic changes.

    13) God curses the serpent, making him crawl on his belly and eat dust (Genesis 3:14). One wonders how he got around before — by hopping on his tail, perhaps? But snakes don’t eat dust, do they?

    14) “There were giants in the earth in those days.” Genesis 6:4 But there is no archaeological evidence for the existence of these giants. Also there is a reference to the “Nephilim” being on the earth. Which is a term used for half angel, half human. Why is there no archaeological evidence for the existence of the Nephilim either?

  25. 25

    15) Noah is told to make an ark that is 450 feet long (Genesis 6:14-15). The largest wooden ships ever built were just over 300 feet, and they required diagonal iron strapping for support. Even so, they leaked so badly that they had to be pumped constantly. Are we to believe that Noah, with no shipbuilding knowledge and no shipbuilding tradition to rely upon, was able to construct a wooden ship that was longer than any that has been built since?

    16) Whether by twos or by sevens, Noah takes male and female representatives from each species of “every thing that creepeth upon the earth” (Genesis 7:8). Now this must have taken some time, along with expert knowledge of taxonomy, genetics, biogeography, and anatomy. How did Noah manage to collect the endemic species from the New World, Australia, Polynesia, and other remote regions entirely unknown to him? How, once he found them, did he transport them back to his Near Eastern home? How could he tell the male and female beetles (there are more than 500,000 species) apart? How did he know how to care for these new and unfamiliar animals? How did he find the space on the ark? How did he manage to find and care for the hundreds of thousands of parasitic species or the hundreds of thousands of plant species? (Plants are ignored in the Genesis account, but the animals wouldn’t last long if the plants died in the flood.) No, wait, don’t tell me, a miracle happened, millions of them.

  26. 26

    17) All of the animals boarded the ark “in the selfsame day” (Genesis 7:13-14). Since there were several million species involved, they must have boarded at a rate of at least 100 per second. How did poor Noah and his family make sure that the correct number of each species entered through the door and then get them all settled into their proper living quarters so efficiently? I wish the airline companies could do as well!

    18) The flood covered the highest mountain tops (Mount Everest?) with fifteen cubits to spare (Genesis 7:20). Where did all the water come from? Where did it all go? Why is there no evidence of such a massive flood in the geological record?

    19) When the animals left the ark (Genesis 8:19), what would they have eaten? There would have been no plants after the ground had been submerged for nearly a year. What would the carnivores have eaten? Whatever prey they ate would have gone extinct. And how did the New World primates or the Australian marsupials find there way back after the flood subsided?

  27. 27

    20) Noah kills the “clean beasts” and burns their dead bodies for God (Genesis 8:20). According to Genesis 7:8 this would have caused the extinction of all “clean” animals since only two of each were taken onto the ark. So why is it that we still have “clean” animals?

    21) God is filled with remorse for having drowned his creatures in the flood. He even puts the rainbow in the sky so that whenever the animals see it they will remember God’s promise not to do it again (Genesis 9:13). But rainbows are caused by the nature of light, the refractive index of water, and the shape of raindrops. There were rainbows billions of years before humans existed.

    22) “The whole earth was of one language” (Genesis 11:1). But this could not be true, since by this time (around 2400 BCE) there were already many languages, each unintelligible to the others.

    23) (Genesis. 11:4) According to the Tower of Babel story, the many human languages were created instantaneously by God (Genesis 11:9) But actually the various languages evolved gradually over long periods of time.

  28. 28

    24) (Genesis 14:14) Abram goes into pursuit looking for his captive relative in the city of Dan. The problem here is that the city of Dan did not exist until over 300 years after Moses died. How is it that Abram could enter the city of Dan, when the city did not even exist?

    25) Jacob displays his (and God’s) knowledge of biology by having goats copulate while looking at streaked rods. The result is streaked baby goats (Genesis 30:37). The author of Genesis (God?) believed that genetic characteristics of the offspring are determined by what the parents see at the moment of conception. This is a laughable belief. Ask any animal husbandrist.

    26) Camels don’t divide the hoof (Leviticus 11:4). This statement is completely moronic for every TEENAGER knows what a “camel toe” and how it used to describe a specific split.

  29. 29

    27) The bible says that hares and conies are unclean because they “chew the cud” but do not part the hoof (Leviticus 11:5-6). But hares and coneys are not ruminants and they do not “chew the cud.”

    28) Bats are birds to the biblical God (Leviticus 11:13-19 & Deuteronomy 14:11-18).

    29) Some birds have four feet (Leviticus 11:20-21).

    30) If there is a God, there is one thing we know for sure about him: He really likes insects (particularly beetles). There are more species of insects, by far, than all other species of life on earth. As JBS Haldane said, “he has an inordinate fondness for beetles.” Yet insects are said to have four legs in Leviticus 11:22-23.

    31) Unicorns have never existed, yet they are said to in Deuteronomy 33:17.

    32) Fiery serpents have NEVER existed yet Numbers 21:6 claims they do and TO THIS DAY STILL inhabit certain cities.

  30. 30

All opinions of homosexuality aside, something needs to be said about the context of this article. Refusing to teach homosexuality to children is NOT 'almost identical' to condoning the physical persecution, and sometimes murder of homosexuals (as is done in Russia).

The fact that the author has the audacity to compare the two only reflects their own ignorance on the subject. Perez, please stop using this site to fulfill your own political biases and stick to what you do best: provide the world with trashy celebrity gossip.

  40. 40

Bullshit. I live in TX and went to school in TX all my life, and I was NEVER told that "children be taught that “homosexual conduct is a criminal offense”. Homosexuality was NEVER even discouraged. I went to school in the country, where half the students were in FFA or showed animals at the rodeo. There were gay kids at school, and they were never picked on or anything, in fact, one was very popular and well-liked.
Stop trying to create problems that don't even exist!

  41. 41

BTW, Perez, you're the #1 reason my Dad doesn't support gay marriage. He thinks that 99% of them are JUST LIKE YOU.

  42. 42

In California, the law says women may not drive in a house coat. Come on, Californians, pick up the phone and let your representatives know you refuse to live in such a sexist state!

The point is that there are many stupid laws on the books that NEVER get enforced, they just haven't been taken off.

Forgive me if I am just blessed with enough knowledge to know right from wrong and sane from insane, or perhaps you can blame my knowledge and understanding on my educated, yet mild christian upbringing in New York. The fact that it is even a debate whether or not gay relationships are ok is fucking ridiculous. The bible is and was used to teach and guide people, however, to take it literally is fucking moronic. Let people live, love humanity. Leave people the fuck alone, it is insane to me how it's even a fucking topic. Drop it!! Stop belittling people for falling in love with same-sex individuals! Stop basing their worth upon their sexual orientation. Stop sticking your nose into the business of people who are purely in love with individuals who are of the same-sex. You people would make Jesus ashamed. Love will always conquer hate, and luckily we are seeing that happen within the progress of gay rights and public knowledge. EDUCATE YOURSELVES BEFORE QUOTING THE BIBLE, THE BIBLE CANNOT ALWAYS BE BACKING FOR ARGUMENTATION BECAUSE IT WILL CONSTANTLY BE INTERPRETED DIFFERENTLY. There are plenty of other things in the bible that are said to be sins, however, I still see those sins being committed with out any rednecks getting involved.

Re: Jessicalc – you're dad is a fucking moron if he lets Perez Hilton dictate his opinion on gay marriage and the gay community. Maybe we should outlaw idiots like him (and many others) from having children and spreading idiocy? That may actually be doing some good for society. You should educate him, after you educate yourself. The dumbest of the dumb could still be enlightened, I believe in humanity.

p.s. I doubt these laws are enforced due to the fact that federal laws are superior, these comments just pissed me off. Ignorant mother fuckers in this world.

p.p.s. I am from the south and I know plenty of good hearted people in these listed states that would never ever discriminate or support discrimination of any kind, so not all individuals and families from these states are ignorant or mis-guided.

  50. 50

Re: Jessicalc – Person, I don't want to be harsh on you, but with all the proof the bible is completely wrong, antagonic, misoginistic and deceitful, how come you want to debate the fact you're a Christian or not to me? You can do whatever you want with your life, but remember, you "might" be getting yourself lost, you "might" be cheating on yourself, you might be creating ground so other people can install other beliefs around you in order to take advantage of you. you're not finding salvation, you're getting away from the realization that your life is going to end, and by "believing" in anything, you'll die in fear. you're the only one who can take care of yourself, don't ever believe in anyone and anything, including me. think and come up with your own conclusions.

  51. 51

Re: Verdad – Maybe this is the last time you're responding to me because you're delusional enough to think I'll fall for your bs. Honey, the information I presented here is just the tip of the iceberg. but I don't really care about that, I actually feel sorry for you because you're living a mistake, you're lost, and it will get worse for you. you don't think independtly, you worship liders and nonsense and it will take it's tool on you. honestly, hell might exist, cause if I were under your skin with such empty delusional mindset, I'd probably be in hell…

  52. 52

Re: Alexima – I wasn't debating I was a Christian to you, I was agreeing with you, but letting you know that you can have all the proof in the world, but those people who believe in the Old Testament will never see the proof you were trying to show. I'm a little confused about your response to me. I WAS AGREEING WITH YOU.

  53. 53

Re: holy shit – Educate myself on what? I spent an hour on Sunday arguing with my Dad about this shit. I SUPPORT WITH GAY MARRIAGE. What I don't support is the idiotic way Perez tries to go about it, and the fact that it's hurting his cause. He exaggerates and tries to make something out of nothing whenever he can.

  54. 54

Re: holy shit – Even my gay friends hate Perez and recognize he's hurting them. He's obnoxious and a shit-stirrer. Show me ONE fucking instance where a child in Texas was taught that shit? I bet you won't find any. Why? Because this is a bullshit story, with an exaggerated headline (almost identical? Really?), just to stir shit up and make problems when there aren't any, something the media and Perez excel at.
Perez is one of the most prominent gays in this country, always spouting off gay rights and stuff. Like it or not, he is an example of what "gay" is, and how "gays" live and act, and some people will judge the whole based on the prominent few. Perez wants to be a leader for the gay community, and people judge the leaders.
