Why not have electrolysis instead of being stared at? Seems unnecessary considering how many options there are for her. I have PCOS. You can take birth control, hormone pills or get surgery to control your hormones. I'm not sure why she'd rather be mistaken for a hairy man than get some Nair.

You know… That can kill you if you don't control it

Maybe they can give her a role in the hobbit movie? Is that being said you moron because of her appearance? How about just leave it at "she would do a great job in any movie with her attitude on life"…

How about laser hair removal stupid diaper head? That is so disgusting. She has to be a dyke for sure. The Paki Chaz Bono.

Ah!! Perez your Hyprocrisy will be the end of you. This poor girl. Unless she's a celebrity or a performance artist this is horrific and YOU know it. Why don't YOU date her!!!!

Good for her! I also suffer from that disease and have been battling hair growth in unwanted spots since I was in 6th grade. In response to the person who said just get electroloysis or laser hair removal, it is extremely expensive and even that doesn't work to keep off hormonal hair growth from PCOS. I've tried it all and although I am able to keep the hair at bay with all these methods, it's difficult. I had one BF tease me about it before I met my now husband who was always loving, and now can afford all the hair removal techniques. I commend this young girl for loving herself, regardless of her excess hair growth!

    Love her. God bless.

"Excessive" body hair is only a problem if it makes the person who has it uncomfortable. Making other people squeamish when you have something as serious as PCOS should be the last thing you worry about.
It's not disgusting, nor is it harmful, it just makes other people uncomfortable because it is not something they are used to seeing.
People fear and persecute what they don't understand.

I'm glad she's happy - or at least acts like she's happy. I feel that she should be able to live her life, and we should be able to comment on it. She looks like a man - it's the truth. Doesn't mean it's bad, it's just how I see it. I hope she's truly comfortable with it.

So let me get this straight. Women are always telling men to shave our body hair because "its gross" (and doesnt look nice and smooth like their favorite male model's bodies) but when a girl has body hair.. its wonderful and nice and she should be proud of it and grow it with honor? Well, everyday I learn a new lesson about the inner workings of the minds of women. If I ever date a girl who hates my tiny amount of body hair and tells me to shave it off, I know what I'm going to say. "you wouldnt tell me its gross if I was a 23 year old girl who is twice as hairy". Anyways, I envy her beard. When I tried to grow one (all business owners should have beards. People trust men in beards more according to research), I ended up looking homeless. Mine grows too patchy when its short and too scraggly when its long. And I'm not a sculptor. I cant shape my beards.

  12. MB says – reply to this

Nope, that's kind of gross and unnecessary on a girl. She doesn't need to keep it, which is why I feel alright saying it's gross.

Re: Gooooop – I almost can't tolerate myself without some facial hair. I haven't been perfectly clean shaven in at least 5 years. Obviously vary, certain women do like it, and it might not even be it specifically, they just see it as part of being a mature man in general. Sub-consciously. They don't want a hairless boy. The key is to keep it neat no matter how long it is. Trim it with a trimmer once a week so every hair is the same length and fresh cut. If you're gonna grow a beard, grow a beard. A moustache and or goatee, sideburns, whatever, keep the rest clean shaven. It's when everything you're not concentrating growth on gets long that you start to look like a bum.

I commend this girl for loving herself the way she is. I suffer from this disease too. People need to stop judging. You go girl!

  14. 14

I applaud ladies who can do this. I have the same condition and problems with my excessive hair growth on my face, arms, and chest. I wish I could afford the laser hair removal, but no job = no money for this or the medications to help with it, so I have to use creams and shave it. I see the posts above and below, and I know I can't stop the trolls but think about this, why don't you take the biggest insecurity about yourselves and think about how if people knew it and only judged you by it before getting to know you, how you'd feel. But sadly you can't, because you can only hide behind a screen a keyboard and ridicule instead of dealing with your own shit. So go ahead and call me Sasquach, Big Foot, Bearded Lady, whatever else you think I've never heard before, because in the words of Hannah Horvath, "Any mean thing someone's gonna think of to say about me, I've probably already said it to myself probably in the last half hour."

  15. 15

Get some Nair - works great.

Re: Gooooop – I'm pretty sure it's not going to be the TINY amount of body hair that grosses your "girlfriend" out.

  18. Amy says – reply to this

She also seems to be a practicing Sikh (Religion). There are not many people who have the courage to go against the norm. I applaud her strength to be different and to be happy and confident with who she is. With society being so fixated on fake beauty, it's nice to see someone not conform.

I am not sure if most people on this site can handle the humility that is required to have a disease like PCOS. I have it and though my symptoms are different as they tend to be with PCOS, it doesn't mean I don't have my insecurities that come with it. I have had full on acne since I was 8 and I am now 26, I have lost an ovary, I take some pretty harsh medications everyday and I have miscarried 2 of my babies. Let me tell you I would gladly have a beard to have my babies with me. It is truly shameful they way people justify making fun of those with health issues and I do not just mean with this girl, I have an Aunt with MS and my Mom has a very rare autoimmune disease that requires eye equipment and I am on a daily basis astonished by strangers lack of self control. Empathy my friends, look it up!

  20. JENNYBENNY says – reply to this

    This is Ridiculous!
Most of her symptoms of PCOS would vanish by eating a proper diet and losing weight. I have PCOS and when i followed the doctors instruction, loosing weight, cutting out bad carbs all my symptoms stopped and my hormones went back to normal. This is not a disease to take lightly and just accept. she clearly does not have the proper guidance. Being unhealthy is not something to be proud of. This disease is not a joke and can be dangerous if not managed.

Re: Mooshoo123 – She is a baptized Sikh. Being Baptized, she is not allowed to cut or trim her hair.

Why hasn't anyone told her that she has PCOS? - Polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition in which a woman has an imbalance of a female sex hormones.

Some of you people are so ignorant. She doesn't mind her beard, so let her be. If she wanted to get rid of it, she would of.

WTF's wrong with you? A role in the Hobbit movie? You sir, are an asshole. An ignorant, mean, awful and terrible asshole.

Why not just praise this girl's self esteem and leave it at that.

You congratulate her, celebrate her.. then just try to tear her down with a glib insult.

There's a reason that millions of your former readers have found their gossip elsewhere over the last few years. It's because you're a small, mean man, and we're tired of your shit.

  31. Mel says – reply to this

How about they give her a role in a hobbit movie? Heres a thought how about you get an education on the trauma women with PCOS go through! How can you be so heartless. If you dont manage PCOS to within an inch of your life it can cause all sorts of problems. Grow up Perez. From a PCOS'er sticking up for her cyster!

  32. PCOS Chick says – reply to this

Perez H, no offense but the fact you want to put her in the next hobbit movie is insulting. Hell half the way you talk about her is insulting. I thought as a gay man you'd be much more supportive and classy, well like you claim you are. You get rights, androgenic people can be killed in the streets and it's just murder, not a hate crime when it is. Your terms are still that of mockery yet you claim to support her. Have you had to live like this? I have before I got laser hair removal, and it will return unless I find more money by the end of this year. It is pure hell, you are suicidal, you hate yourself, you question God everyday why you were born and why you were being punished in such a terrible way. I have. I have had my life threatened over this issue because they thought I was a tranny, someone from your exclusive LGBT community that androgenic people should be allowed in because hate crimes are committed against us often times over people in your click but people like you decide that maybe living like this is a choice and therefore we deserve only mockery not protection. I paid thousands of dollars for just a year out of hell with laser, you have no idea how bad it really is. Still you really went here? Well I guess you lost one fan from your lack of sensitivity and page click lust without thinking over if this was a good idea for my community like I am supportive of LGBT.

Leave her alone. What she chooses to do with her body is her own decision. If she wants to conform to everyone's sense of beauty than she can, but she doesn't so why persecute her? Just leave her alone. Who honestly cares about the hair on her face?
