It's disgusting that people still use this kind of language!
GROSS!! Arizona Passes A DISGUSTING Bill That Gives People A "Right To Discriminate" And Is Now One Step Away From Being A Law!
This is such a fail, Arizona.
We can't even believe something like would even be proposed, let alone PASSED in 2014.
Arizona has passed a bill basically giving people the "right to discriminate" against others based on their religious beliefs.
Ughhhhhhh, don't we have separation of church and state for a reason?!
Basically, the bill allows people, companies, and religious bodies the right to use their religious beliefs as a legitimate defense in a lawsuit for discrimination.
Aka if someone refused to hire an employee based on the fact that they were, say, gay or even a single mother, the company could defend themselves by saying it was against their religious beliefs to hire said person.
Gross, gross, groooooosssssss.
“We are trying to protect people’s religious liberties. We don’t want the government coming in and forcing somebody to act against their religious sacred faith beliefs or having to sell out if you are a small-business owner.”
We REALLY REALLY doubt that, say, serving someone food if they're gay or a single mother, is really going against someone's "sacred faith beliefs."
Although the bill was passed by the legislature, it will now make it's way to Governor Jan Brewer's desk.
She has three options to go forward; she can either sign the bill into law, veto the bill as unconstitutional, or do nothing and let the bill be passed into law.
So let's hope that the Gov. does the RIGHT thing and veto's this disgusting & discriminatory law.
UGH, Arizona, so disappointed by this.
