A Contemporary Romeo & Juliet Musical TV Series Is Apparently In The Works For FOX & With It Would Come A Stage Version Too?!

romeo and juliet contemporary musical tv series coming

Oh no, this does not sound good.

Apparently a contemporary version of Romeo & Juliet is possibly coming to FOX as a TV series in the near future.

AND the worst best part is that it will be a musical show as well.

Wait, what?!?

The series will, basically, be something like if Glee were to meet William Shakespeare and they had some strange, music singing, rebellious, 21st century love-child.

Yeah, doesn't sound too appealing to us either.

Reportedly:

"We're trying to do songs that, if it weren't for this show, you'd hear on the radio anyway. Songs that could be found on an Imagine Dragons album or that Lorde would be singing."

So, you mean Juliet is going to prance around serenading Romeo with Royals in her high school halls?!

In addition, IF the R&J series were to be picked up, they would ALSO work on adapting it into a stage version…

To be performed while the TV series is on the air!

PLUS, not only are they hell-bent on ruining Shakespeare, but apparently Robin Hood, King Arthur, & Jack The Ripper inspired series are also on their way!

Well, depending on the success of the Romeo & Juliet one.

We're not exactly enthused by this idea, but we guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens?

More crap TV. Good grief. Is there no imagination in the industry anymore? Same shit over and over, remade over and over.
