Philip Seymour Hoffman Killed By Massive Overdose Of MULTIPLE Drugs, According To Coroner's Report

philip seymour hoffman autopsy results

After nearly four weeks, Philip Seymour Hoffman's cause of death has finally been confirmed.

It's even worse than expected.

The NYC medical examiner's office lists the cause of death as "acute mixed drug intoxication."

Philip's heroin addiction was well-known, but the coroner also found cocaine, benzodiazepines (an anti-anxiety medication), and amphetamines in his system.

The mix of heroin and cocaine, commonly referred to as a speedball, can be incredibly dangerous. John Belushi and Chris Farley also died with both drugs in their systems.

This lethal cocktail is officially what took Philip from us — and we all know he is still greatly missed.

Drugs did not take Philip Seymour Hoffman from us. He took himself off the world stage. He had talent, a beautiful companion, children and a life most will never have, but he still could not control his demons.

I thought he was a great actor, but he is buried now so can we stop the stories exploiting his death please?

he probably got drunk first than shot heroin. It's what has killed too many celebs and the media will never report it.

Re: Jack – Because you are not perfect either. He has an imbalance within, and you nor anyone else is any different. The only reason he did what he did and you do what you do is because of how your chemical make up expresses itself. That could easily be you. Don't be so quick to slam people.

He tried to reach for help and did not receive the assistance he needed in order to save his life. May he rest in peace and may we as society start helping people with drug addiction wit a bit more compassion and a bit less judgment.
