Oscars In Memoriam Leaves Out Glee's Cory Monteith, The Simpsons Marcia Wallace, & Many More

cory monteith marcia wallace left out of oscars in memoriam

The Oscars always pays tribute to those talented and creative artists we lost throughout the year.

And every year some people unfortunately have to be left out of the In Memoriam.

This year, while we all honored Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Walker, and many more who were featured during the touching moment, some of our most beloved stars were left off the list.

Sadly, Cory Monteith, Marcia Wallace, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's James Avery, Tom Clancy, Lisa Robin Kelly, Lee Thompson Young, Phil Everly, Phil Ramone, Lou Reed, Pete Seeger, Dennis Farina, Gary David Goldberg, Alicia Rhett, Alain Resnais, Jim Jacks, and Clive Burr were left out of the tribute.

And most oddly of all, Ruth Robinson Duccini from Wizard of Oz (which had a film tribute earlier in the night) and Alice Herz-Sommer, who was the subject of the Best Documentary Short-winning film The Lady in Number 6 and passed away this last week, were both not featured in the tribute.

It's unfortunate that anyone has to be left out, but everyone was included in the online In Memoriam.

They omitted were TV and music people. Different award show.

I think the memoriam at the Oscars is for the "movie" people. TV stars are mentioned during the Emmys. Both movie and tv stars are mentioned at Golden Globes and other award shows honoring all stars. Correct?

Typing up sh*t without thinking again, huh Perez? None of the people you name were in the film industry.
Tom Clancy novels have been made into movies but he's a writer. Ruth Robinson Duccini was in only in one film as basically an extra so not a film actor and Alice Herz Sommer the subject of a documentary, not an actor.
    Moron.

They were not motion picture people. Corey got his memorial during the Emmy's so calm down , Perez.

You can see the entire list online. They have limited time to do it. However, Cprry was in movies as well as TV so that point about only movie stars being shown is invalid

Are these all film actors? The academy usually honors film actors and film creative team members.

You know precious little about the criteria for memoriam listings at the oscars. They have to be in the MOTION PICTURE industry..not television. Seriously, I don't know how you don't know this. Idiot

As far as Cory Monteith is concerned. Very sad but move on.

Don't mention it otherwise Lea will end up writing a song about it.

Cory might have been in like, one movie but let's be honest - he was a TV person. This is the Oscars - for heavens sake, you're a gay man - you should know this!

Umm… because to be a part of that list, you must be a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Do your research before making baseless statements, otherwise you can go work for the Enquirer.

Mmmkay…………..these arent major motion picture people. Why would they pay them tribute at the Oscars? As for Corey Montieth, really please get over it and move on already. he was a guy on glee who was fucking Leah Mitchelle (or whatever the hell her name is) and he had a drug problem. Yes it's sad he died so young, and of an OD, blah blah blah ……….. a hugely famous person he was not, dude was barely on the radar, move on already.

Re: Jay – Even more so, the in memoriam is for Academy members only. Not everyone. You would think a Hollywood reporter would know better.

    Academy members only!

The real tragedy is not honoring Dennis Farina. Are you fucking kidding me? He was one of the most recognizable actors in the business. He must have done 100 movies.
And smh at people talking like there are rules to this shit. There are, but they break them and make exceptions on the regs. Cory could have easily been shown.
