Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone's Oscar No-Show Explained! Find Out What Caused The Couple To Miss Hollywood's Biggest Night HERE!!

| Filed under: Love LineAndrew GarfieldOscarsEmma StoneFamily

andrew garfield emma stone missed the oscars because of family issues(1)

Ooooooh so THIS is why they skipped out on the Oscars!

Andrew Garfield and his lovely GF, Emma Stone, were supposed to be at Sunday's awards show & were VERY noticeable no-shows, which had the world wondering why!

Did they get into a fight? Break up? Get caught in one of Spider-Man's webs?!

Well, apparently Emma had a family crisis & being the English gentleman that he is, Andrew skipped out on the show to be by her side!

How sweet of him!

Sources explained:

“It was disheartening to learn that Andrew canceled on the Oscars. If it were a fight or something between them one would have just came without the other, but this seemed to be more of something going on with one of their families. With Emma, it’s all family first and Andrew is so devoted to her that he wouldn’t just leave her in New York dealing with some sort of crisis on her own. Emma and Andrew don’t have any other press obligations in the next two weeks, so hopefully whatever it is, they will have some time to themselves to deal with it."

Oh no!!! We hope everything is okay!

We're sure it was something important for them to miss such a high-profile appearance!

Hopefully the problem is resolved soon and our favorite couple can go back to being cute & sickeningly in love all the time!

UPDATE: As it turns out, Emma Stone didn't even plan to attend the Oscars. She had a family obligation in Arizona and apparently declined the Academy's invitation way back in January!

Pretty sure I believe this instead:

Andrew Garfield was supposed to take the stage at the Oscars with "Batkid" Miles Scott, but producers called the whole thing off when the actor had a problem with his lines.

I know Miles personally and am well aware that there was not a crisis in New York. Andrew Garfield was an arrogant actor that treated Miles and his family with an amazing amount of disrespect by refusing to follow the script. After hearing about the experience first-hand from the family, I'll never spend a dime on anything he does.

You got fed a line on this one. I know people very close with the family of "BatKid" and this is the real story:
Shame on this site for helping him cover up his tantrum!

As the others have commented here, it is now CONFIRMED that his "no show" was his own doing by throwing a tantrum and marching off set during a Dress Rehearsal because he refused to present with the young boy who has been named Bat Kid by The Make A Wish Foundation. He should be ashamed of himself. I am sure some lame apology is forthcoming. Ya need to update your story here PH…I realize he's hot but lets not blow smoke.

Not even a 5-year-old boy with cancer could persuade egotistical actor Andrew Garfield to be a presenter at the Academy Awards.
The “Spider-Man” star was supposed to take the stage Sunday with Miles Scott, who has come to be known as “Batkid” after the city of San Francisco let him play superhero there.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences had arranged with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to further make Miles’ dreams come true.
“The academy was going to make him an official superhero during the Oscar ceremony. Andrew Garfield was going to appoint him ‘Batkid.’ But, in the middle of the dress rehearsal, Garfield decided he didn’t like his lines,” said a well-placed source.
“Garfield refused to go by the script. He came up with his own lines. The producers felt that Garfield’s [rewrites] were not appropriate. Garfield had a tantrum. He stormed off. Miles and his family, who were at the rehearsal, were devastated.”
The producers decided to cut the superhero initiation, but they paid for Miles to go to Disneyland.
“Garfield was such a spoiled brat that he didn’t even want to be a presenter,” said my source. The academy had to call “Captain America” star Chris Evans to sub at the last minute.

Re: Ashley – Of course. Believe the more negative story because the "Sources" there are more reliable than the "Sources" here? Just get a grip, buy a ticket, and shut. up.

Re: Bashley Simpson – … I guess I should explain that I live in the small community where Batkid and family are from. This is why I believe that version. I suppose for someone like you, it is hard to believe the spoiled Hollywood shit is anything but a misunderstood heartthrob for horny little pre-teens. Truth sucks sometimes.
