    Oh My
    Looks like a real stinker
but if the critics pan it, they will be called racist

how about getting a white person to play Martin Luther King Jr.?

  3. 3

I'll stick with the ORIGINAL thank-you.

I have to say I was a little unsure about the changes they were gonna make but this looks really cute! This is a PRESENT DAY remake so why the fuck would she be an orphan? Foster care makes complete sense. Some people are pissed cuz she is black but when you look at foster care statistics it would make SENSE for her to be any race but white. The "original" Annie lived in the inner city people!
I don't care if you don't like the movie
but it is idiotic and racist to not like it BECAUSE Annie is a minority. Grow the Fuck up America.

Looks cute - except Cameron Diaz. Is she purposely trying for a Razzie?

Re: roman8712 – I was kinda wondering if it would stink, because most remakes do but you're right. This is a moden day remake, and yep you've changed my mind on it. Good points!

This looks completely RIDICULOUS! Why on Earth did they feel the need to remake such a classic movie? I'll tell you now, this is going to BOMB in the theaters. And critics better be honest with their reviews. No way do I plan to see this at all. Jamie Foxx? Cameron Diaz? Ugh what were they thinking?

It's not even the racial issue, because they've done racial swapping on multiple movies and shows and there's no difference unless race is specifically called for one nationality in the plot. It's the fact that this just looks… bad. And badly acted. Like they jumped on the little girl after the Oscar nod and wanted to keep that momentum. I understand that it's a modern remake, but could they have at least executed it right? Taken it seriously? The little girl isn't even a "good" singer. Why couldn't they have gotten an unknown? It just looks like a bad big name vehicle that they want to make a profit on by releasing it at Christmas, because any other month, it would bomb at the box office. But that's Will Smith and Jay-Z for you: quantity and profit for them over quality and respect of the art. There's modern remakes, and then there's classics that just shouldn't be touched in the first place. Cameron Diaz in a role originated by Carol Burnett? Come on.

The clips of Cameron Diaz do nothing to build confidence in this movie. Good idea, and this is the kind of movie that can be remade, but I have very low hopes after seeing this, mainly because her acting is so bad.
