Thank goodness no one was seriously injured!
Investigators are trying to determine why a theater stage at a Southern California high school collapsed during a performance on Saturday night—sending 25 students to the hospital, with broken bones and minor injuries!
Law enforcement was called after the wooden stage at Servite High School, an all-boys Catholic school in Anaheim, completely collapsed, sending students plummeting 5 feet—as more than 600 people watched in horror!
About 250 students from Rosary High School, an all-girls sister school, were singing and dancing in an annual performance, when something went suddenly wrong.
One of the high schoolers Sabrina Lee recalled the scary moment:
"We were all jumping, having fun, we've done it five times before, and then all the sudden the girls in front of me just disappeared. I don't know what happened. All I knew was I turned around and ran."
Can you imagine singing a reprise from Evita, and all the sudden your classmates disappear into thin air…
We'd be crying for way more than just Argentina!
The cause appeared to be too many students on stage built in 1958, and too much weight on the platform addition that was added in the 1980s.
The investigation into this incident has started, and could take u to two weeks to complete.
But we're just happy everyone's okay!
