…because there's absolutely no talented Native American actress in the entire world to play tiger lily. Stop it Hollywood. This is becoming silly.

Tiger Lily? The Native Princess? Being played by her? Okay then….

Only to echo what the other comments have said… Tiger Lily is a NATIVE AMERICAN princess. There were no actual Native American actresses to be found? Did they even look? At the very least, if you're going to white-wash a movie, get an actor who looks the ethnicity, be it Hispanic, Hawaiian, Portuguese, or some race of the sort. There are other races in Hollywood instead of Caucasian. This is bullshit. And an insult to the Pan franchise.

lupita nyongo was up for this role also. i like rooney well enough as an actress, but it is a shame lupita did not get this part, she would have been wonderful

Re: blahRe: sick_girlRe: Jared – You all should be consistent with your blatant hypocrisy. They decided to cast a black guy for the role of Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Needless to say people whining about it was instantly labeled racist, when in reality, sue and johnny are siblings, the casting for Sue storm is a white girl..so it makes no sense how siblings are different colors.

Re: NookiesWA – I see your point about siblings being the same race but we're talking about x-men here…anything is possible. All the same, you're missing the point. Casting Tiger Lily as a caucasian is a blatant disregard for the common misrepresentation of Native Americans in film. There are plenty of talented Native American actresses and it's infuriating that Hollywood simply could care less about giving a Native American role to a Native American.

Re: NookiesWA – First off, yes Sue & Johnny are siblings but have you ever heard of….oohh..i don't know, adoption!? OR the simple fact that maybe that one of the parents are a common factor (ex: same dad, different moms or vice versa)? Plus we know Hollywood never sticks to the script! They always take stories & transform them either into masterful renditions or shitty nightmares. Second, minorities have every right to cry foul when it comes to casting characters! Hollywood does NOT cast enough Minorities in their movies let alone lead roles! So sorry that you feel offended that we're pissed off about yet AGAIN another WHITE PERSON being cast for a MINORITY role! For such a diverse country there is sure a lot of pale faces on the movie screen!

I agree with most of the commenters here. It's frankly appalling to cast a super-white woman in a Native woman's role. Native people still exist, and continually casting white people in Native role perpetuates the idea that Native people have somehow vanished. This is the first I've heard about this movie, and now I will not got see it.
