Chris Pine Pleads Guilty To DUI In New Zealand & Then Catches Quite The Break!

chris pine pleads guilty dui

Phew! We bet Chris Pine is glad this ordeal is over!

After being charged with DUI in New Zealand, the actor has quickly settled the matter.

He went to Ashburton District Court today to plead guilty to DUI for the arrest that took place earlier this month.

While entering the court, Chris commented:

"It's all good guys, it's all going to be okay."

And it sounds like he knew what he was talking about!

After passing by fans who had gathered outside the court, Chris took the guilty plea and was fined $93, and is unable to drive for six months. The fine he was given was so low because he had made a sizable donation to Cure Kids.

We hope he's learned his lesson and won't be making this dangerous mistake again!

He did not buy his way out of anything. This was his first offence and he was suspended from driving for six months. He was asked to pay reparations of NZ$93 - court cost of blood-alcohol test. He donated a lot more than the Judge would have legally been able to fine him under NZ law, something she noted. NZ does not imprison people for DUI first offence, when there has been no injury or loss of life. Chris Pine did not kill or injure anyone, but he should not have been driving. The Judge could not ignore that his BAC was way over the limit of .08.

It is not just the rich buffoons who drive drunk. Other people do it as well, even when they also have other options available. Drink driving on rural roads in NZ can be quite a problem. People think that because the roads are so quiet due to the very small population in many of these areas, they'll be OK and not a danger to anyone. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, which is probably why there was a patrol car doing random breath testing that night. Chris got caught out. That cop may have saved his life, for all we know.

I don't agree with the offence he has done. But people do stupid things under the influence. He has made a reasonable donation to a children's charity. Which doesn't make it better or go away. He seems like a normal human being. Also very handsom
