Whatever it took Angelina Jolie to be this perfect as Maleficent, we approve!
The movie hasn't come out yet, but we're sure she's flawless in it.
However, it wasn't easy for her to get there as the character is quite a departure from Angelina. So we can't really be all that surprised to hear Angie went a bit "nutso" to nail the part!
"I loved being Maleficent. I was quite sad to put my staff down and put my horns away because somehow, she just lives in a different world. But I did have to take my staff home to practice walking with it in my cloak, and then I would go outside and scream at the bushes to expand my voice and play with my voice. So, mom was a bit nutso for a period."
We can't imagine that looked too normal to her brood!
Although her children did help her nail the voice as she added:
"I started making up other stories about Maleficent. And they weren't really paying attention to me, as children often do. You can bore them to death, until I started to mess around with this playful [sing-songy] voice. It gets very, very dark. But it had these colors. My kids started laughing. And that's how I would rehearse my scenes. I would do it until my kids were somehow smiling or thought that was funny, because you have to do that and go there with her."
But it seems main man Brad Pitt wasn't trying to get Angie to use that voice in the bedroom…or was he?
She admitted about whether or not he liked her dressed as the character:
"I don’t know! You know, I never asked him. He thinks she's cool."
We're sure he was totally down for a little role playing!
Although, when you're with Angelina Jolie, does it really get any better??
