The Reviews Are In For Divergent & They Don't Look Good! But That's Not Gonna Stop It From Dominating The Box Office!

shailene woodley divergent theo james reviews are in

Uh oh! This doesn't look good!!

It looks like the reviews are in for Divergent and Shailene Woodley's YA franchise is NOT getting positive ratings!

With critics from The Hollywood Reporter saying "the clunky result is almost unrelentingly grim" and the New York Daily News calling it "unimaginative and bland," it's REALLY not looking good for the film.

Oh nooooo!!

Then again, bad reviews didn't stop the first Twilight movie from commanding the box office!!

And, sure, it's no Jennifer Lawrence-headed Hunger Games movie, that's for sure, but really, do the critics know everything?

Even WITH the bad reviews rolling in, the film is slated to earn at least $55-$60 million in its opening weekend!

Which is NOTHING to scoff at!

So, really, whether the critics blast the film or not, we're sure it's going to be just fine, at least financially speaking!

Plus, the fanbase for the book series by Veronica Roth is HUGE, and usually those fans will NEVER miss the chance to see their favorite book turned into a movie!

What do U think? Will bad reviews stop U from seeing the film? Or will U see the movie anyway?

P.S. Don't miss your chance to win your very own SIGNED Tris & Four Barbie dolls HERE!

P.P.S. Ch-ch-check out our EXCLUSIVE! interviews with the cast members of the film HERE!!

Twilight & Hunger Games were terrible movies w/ bad acting, bad story & bad CGI but people went to see them because they're sheep. Divergent will probably make a billion dollars.

Re: karen – Or, other people have different opinions from you? That doesn't make them "sheep", bitch.

Hollywood's going to love Model Citizens Riding For A Fall, a big sassy story that's got movie written all over it!

Two models blackmail their way to the top in LA and they've got it made - they're living the celebrity high life - until the bad karma, in the shape of a big name NFL quarterback, catches up with them.

Be the first to check out Model Citizens Riding For A Fall @ Amazon

The story is just too derivative. I read the book and promptly forgot about it. I feel like a million other books would have made better movies.

Actually, even with a huge fan base, this series might fail. The problem lies with the last book in the series. It has an extremely idiotic ending that has turned off a lot of people, people that were in love with the first 2 books. Personally, I tried to get into the series but the last book killed it for me bad. I'm only going to see the movie because I got the tickets for so cheap.

When will you learn, Perez, that an artist, movie, or product earning massive loads of money and followers does not mean it's of decent quality? Critics review the quality of something, not how much money it rakes in. If it is shitty quality, the reviews will be shitty. Simple.

And FYI, Twilight is less than 10 years old and is already something participants and fans alike are regretting the existence of. Divergent is the new Twilight -biiiig whoop- and that's absolutely nothing to be proud of unless your pockets are directly benefiting from it.

We were invited by Summit to screen the movie earlier this week, and as fans of the book series, were very happy with the movie. It stayed incredibly true to the book and that is huge in and of itself. Feel free to read and comment on my whole review here:

Re: Jessicalc – Someone who says Miley Freaking Cyrus is one of her favorite stars calls other people sheep for liking the Hunger Games and Divergent…that is flat out hilarious! When will the clownhat Jessicalc be performing in the Houston area? If the rest of her show is as funny as her comment…her clown performance has to be comedy gold!

A very poorly watered down Hunger Games at its worst. My bf wanted to leave, but I was hoping it would get better. It never did.

Pass. Don't waste your money on movies that make you stupider. The plot couldn't be any more obviously tailored for disaffected Hot-Topic teens. The effects look dull, the plot and sci-fi are completely implausible, and just in general, I'm sick of "distopian thrillers" where everyone is completely flawless, scarless, and speaks impeccable queen's english.

You want a dystopian thriller? …Look outside. You're living it. Now what?
I'm on a horse. (Doo dee doo doo doodee doo do..)

No, really - go read "1984" instead. Starts at $6 on Amazon.

The movie was overall ok, it wasn't bad but that whole universe just did not make sense to me at all imo… like I feel like I have seen this type of movie before (no, not saying the hunger games, I am talking about other dystopian movies) but me and my boyfriend went and seen it last night and he really didn't get it. There were some good scenes here and there but overall it was just ok.

Probably because Shailene Woodley is the lead and she's a terrible actress.

I recently finished the book trilogy, and I saw the movie twice. Honestly, it lived up to my expectations and was amazing, better than The Hunger Games. Although, I am a teen so adults may not enjoy it as much as I did. The last book is extremely disappointing and depressing at the end, but still my favorite book series by far. It is completely different from the Hunger Games, but if you enjoyed the Hunger Games then you will enjoy Divergent.
