American Idol's First Openly Gay Contestant MK Nobilette Got The Boot Last Night & Made Jennifer Lopez Cry! Sadsies!

| Filed under: TV NewsMusic MinuteAmerican IdolRyan SeacrestJennifer LopezKeith Urban

Jennifer Lopez called her a "quiet storm" during the audition process—and just like the rain, she came and went!

We're so sad to reveal that American Idol's first openly gay contestant MK Nobilette was voted out of the show's top 10 last night!

Even worse, Jenny, who's been a huge fan of MK ever since the beginning, looked to be in complete tears (above) as the talented songstress performed John Legend‘s All Of Me—in hopes of being ultimately saved!

We know the I Luh Ya Papi singer tried to do some major convincing with Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., but it simply wasn't enough for the judges to use their save.

MK has a hugely supportive fanbase, so we're sure news of last night's exit hit them hard—but we're so happy this adorable almost Idol helped change the face of the show forever!

Here's to more open and honest contestants from now on!

I'm not sure why MK was ever picked in the first place… nice singer.. not exceptional. Plus, she doesn't look like she is having fun up there — out of her element. It was awkward watching her perform. I still wish her well.

Did Adam Lambert sudden;y turn gay after his season ended? He was open about his sexuality throughout.

I found MK totally awkward, lacking charisma & as Bigdawg said, totally out of her element. I didn't think she was a great singer either.

she was only poicked becasue she was gay. they want viewers and ratings. she was not a good singer.

She's just not ready, but she does have a voice; and she has a great tone. She needs to go and practice, practice, practice, and preferably in a public setting.

So close, she only lacks talent and looks, otherwise she might win.

I was so upset about MK being voted off, because she's so talented and is a great role model for her fans. I started a petition, so please try to get as many people as possible to sign it, so we can get her back on the show. It only takes 30 seconds. thanks for your help :)

Re: Anna Smith – Really? You can't petition to put someone back on the show. That's not how it works. She didn't get enough votes, she had to leave, and that's the end of it. It's not fair to any of the contestants for her to be put back on the show after being voted off.

Besides that, she doesn't deserve to be there in my honest opinion. There are definitely others there that are better singers and performers, and they deserve to be there more than she does.

Adam Lambert was the first openly gay contestant. Perhaps you mean openly gay FEMALE? MK could sing, but she was way out of her comfort zone when the camera was on.
