Golem Has A Brand New Precious! Hobbit Star Andy Serkis Will Direct Warner Bros.' Jungle Book!

andy serkis direct jungle book warner bros live action remake the hobbit rudyard kipling

What in the name of Gondor?

If you thought the Little Mermaid/Frozen crossover was intense, then this will REALLY blow your mind!

Andy Serkis, best known for playing Golem in all six of Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth movies, has been selected to direct a live-action remake of The Jungle Book!

Though Andy has indeed been honing his skills as the second unit director on The Hobbit movies, this is quite simply a shocking move!!!

So, how did all of this happen? Well, the spot opened up when Babel director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu stepped aside due to scheduling conflicts, but we're not 100% sure why Warner Bros. went with Andy.

At any rate, we're sure he hasn't been this excited since the last time he slipped on the ring!

We just can't wait to see how the internet reacts!!! Can we get a mash-up of Golem singing Bare Necessities, please? LOLz!!

In other Jungle Book news, Jon Favreau is also directing a live-action version of the Rudyard Kipling classic over at Disney.

Hmm, which project are U more willing to spend your hard-earned cash on watching?

    Are you serious?! Golem?
It's GOLLUM, and that charachter's only been in 4/6 of Peter Jackson's "middle earth movies"

It's Gollum…. A simple IMDb look-up would show that. Please do your research before jumping the gun on these articles.
