It’s like the famous proverb says: if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!
Although we don’t think that advice works in this situation.
Police say Christopher Miller walked out of prison after serving 15 years and foolishly returned to the exact same store he tried to rob in 1999.
And then he robbed it again!
Christopher carried out his crimes almost identically - walking into the same Stride Rite shoe store, forcing employees into the back room, and then making off with the cash from the register!
Cops found this repeat bandit less than a half mile away from the scene this time. He was arrested and is now being held on $100K bail.
Worst criminal EVER, right?
Toms River Police Chief Mitchell Little now wonders if Christopher WANTED to get caught because he considers prison his home now and was actually looking for a way to get back behind bars!
Chief Little explained:
"Maybe that's the only life he knows, and the only thing he could think of was going back to the same store and doing the same crime again — getting caught and going back where he was taken care of and told what to do and getting meals and shelter and everything else.”
Wow! Just like Taystee on Orange Is the New Black!
If Christopher does want to return to lockup, chances are he’ll now get his wish. If convicted of the same crime he tried to commit 15 years ago, in addition to a clear parole violation, he’ll be back in prison for many, many more years!
