Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin Don't Want To Be Married Anymore, So You Might Be Surprised To Hear What Their Relationship Is Like Now!

| Filed under: Love LineGwyneth PaltrowColdplayBreakups

gwyneth paltrow chris martin still friends

Should we chalk this up as one of Hollywood's amicable splits??

It's sure sounding like that because even though things are over between Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, there are no hard feelings between the former lovers.

In fact, it sounds like the two are actually quite chummy these days!

If we didn't know they were splitting up, we'd think their marriage was just fine based on what an inside source is saying:

"It's not a sad thing. They're two grown-ups. They're best friends. Most important are the kids and they will continue to co-parent. They're in a great place. They tried, but know this is a better way for them to be. They still love each other, but they realize it's best not to be a couple anymore."

Best friends who love each other???

Talk about a nice split!

But from what another source is saying, they ARE best friends, but the same love is not there:

"They grew apart. They fell out of love. The one thing that kept them together was the kids. The kids mean the world to them. The love was lost. They realized that they were more friends and not lovers and they were at different stages of their careers."

Well, hopefully they're both able to find new people who will be their best friends AND lovers!

Looks like they are putting on a good front for the public. I am skeptical that they are best friends who love each other.

Love is a DECISION, NOT a feeling. Hello this is why you WORK at a relationship not throw in the towel when the "passion flame" has dwindled. Hell we'd all be divorced then.

Re: susieserb – People think they've 'fallen out of love' when the thrill of newness is gone. Mature love should be something deeper than the thrill of new conquest. After a bunch of middle aged night stands, they might begin to understand what they had and how wrongly it was devalued…or not if they discover that they really didn't like a lot about the other. You can always meet someone new and go through it all over and over again until it becomes same old. Whatever.

Re: susieserb – amen sista!! how do all these celebrities escape the fact that we always fall in and out of love, but we CHOOSE to stay or not stay together? commitment is what fuels the fire… :P

Best friends who love each other? Isn't that what marriage is supposed to be?

Re: LadyBlahBlah – of course love is a feeling because it's partly chemicals. it's the same with any friendship you have with someone. it's why your drawn to certain people over others. then based on all the other stuff your receiving from them -having things in common- same belief system- same goals, etc., is what makes you realize if you love someone or not and want to have a long lasting relationship with them. i've never had to work at any relationship that was right, be it intimate or friendship. those that didn't work out, it was because when i got below the surface, the realization was that things weren't as they appeared to be after all.

Re: LadyBlahBlah – Absolutely right!!! I have to wonder if she conveyed her feeling to her Mother before the split, Surely her mother would have set her right about it. "The fires gone"???? Good marriages may be started by fire, but to endure, the embers must be nurtured until they are ready to burst into flame again. I know from experience, IT HAPPENS. My relationship is in an "embers" stage right now(again), But I know it will burst into flame(again) at some point. You just have to be willing to "put another log on the fire" over and over again if you want a truly meaningful relationship, otherwise you just end up with a string of monogamous relationships that end. WHO (actively) WANTS THAT? BTW -Met 1988, -Married 1989, -Divorced 1993, -Re-united 1996——— If you want it, you HAVE to work for it.

    Re: Felix

Stop making this a gay vs straight thing. That's the kind of stuff that keeps us seperated, not united. Once more gay people get married, more gay people will be getting divorces just like the straight folks.

Paltrow has always been pretty honest about her feelings regarding relationships. She doesn't seem like the "life long" type so I'm not sure why they got married to begin with. But I guess you feel differently when you are in love. It's too bad that they are breaking up but good people and good couples break up everyday. Hopefully they both find loving relationships.
