WOW.

Ariana Grande's voice is a FORCE.

The mini diva performed her very own stellar rendition of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing in front of President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for the Women Of Soul event last night.

Not only did Ariana perform feet away from the first couple, but she also shared the evening with performances by the legendary Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, and string of other vocal powerhouses.

YUP! It's safe to say Ariana has made it in the music biz! LOLz!

Ch-ch-check out Ariana bring the elite audience to their feet (above)!

She sang quite flat. These recording artists have their pitch corrected in the studio, but when it comes time to sing live, the sad truth comes out. She's big nothing.

She rushed the song. Her voice isn't strong enough yet to try to come behind Whitney.

She was good don't get me wrong but there was something missing because I think the performance lacked the emotion and grit it takes to fully take on such a big song.

    Ari was AMAZING!!!
She wasn't flat, She didn't lack emotion, And she hit all the notes perfectly.
Oh, She did a "Decent" job?
So excuse me, But when you have 14 million fans, Your music goes double platinum, And your invited by the first lady to perform for her and her husband, THEN come talk to me.
And no, She's my Mariah or Whitney, She's Ariana, And that's all her fans want her to be and we love her for it<3

I love how everyone becomes a music expert in the comment sections. She did and amazing. She's singing a Whitney song and all these idiots come out saying she's "no Whitney" well no shit she isn't trying to be. Just like no one will sing an ariana song like ariana does. Props ariana thank you for showing me there is still hope in the music industry. Your live performances are fantastic.

Re: MommaJ – please kill yourself because she's one of the only female artists that sound same live as on track. Many artists have gave her recognition for it .

Almost all of you are ridiculous. From the "She's a copycat" stans to the tone-deaf crazy fans. She DID go flat, multiple times, in fact so much that the performance was a flop for anyone who knew a thing or two about singing; Ariana probably regretted doing poorly at this performance after hearing herself. Don't get me wrong, the girl was probably incredibly nervous, which is why she flopped so badly, but come on guys, don't blindly defend someone for doing poorly. Encourage her to try again, sure, but don't just throw blind compliments.

Whitney is only a 3.2 octave singer, whereas Ariana is 4. Those of you who aren't musically and vocally trained are probably wondering "How could she flop if her octave range is higher than Whitney's?" Well, that's easy. Ariana does not have a lower register. She loses resonance and just lets out air; this song relied deeply on lower notes that Ariana could not hit, which is why it was a bad idea for her to sing this song. She did a pretty mediocre job here, but I'm pretty sure the next time she gets to perform at a large and important venue like this, she'll be much better and more relaxed so she doesn't go flat; and hopefully she'll be a lot better (Got more training, hopefully), so she'll be able to hit the lower notes that she can't hit. If she learns how to hit lower notes, she'll be a complete 5 octave range singer, but until then, I wish Ariana the best luck in her career.
