You know rap is changing when rappers start beefing over art!
Even though Drake is spending every waking moment with Rihanna these days, he’s not above taking shots at her mentor, Jay Z.
In Drizzy’s Rolling Stone article, the 27-year-old actor threw some shade at Hova, saying:
"It's like Hov can't drop bars these days without at least four art references. I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole Rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny."
Jay Z has been pretty vocal about loving art, even making his Picasso Baby music video in a gallery!
So, to get back at the youngster, Jay Z wrote a verse especially for Drake on Jay Electronica's version of the song We Made It, saying:
"Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk. Silly me, rappin' ’bout shit that I really bought / While these rappers rap about guns that they ain't shot / And a bunch of other silly sh*t that they ain't got."
It’s kind of odd that Jay took it so personally, especially since in the same Stone article, Drake also praised Hov and Kanye West, saying:
“Those two are gods to me."
Hmm… It will be inneresting to see if RiRi’s lovah will hit back!
