NOTE: IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SUNDAY NIGHT'S EPISODE OF ONCE UPON A TIME DO NOT READ PAST THIS IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON WATCH IT SOONER OR LATER.
Last night, Neal died a noble death on OUAT– and he died in Emma's arms, no less!
Yes, it really happened and there's no turning back!
To recap, the episode with a flashback to Fairytale Land where Neal teamed up with Belle, determined to resurrect his papa Rumpelstiltskin, when in actuality, resurrecting Rumple would help the Wicked Witch control him.
Neal started to falter as The Dark One’s form rises from the chamber and Rumple ran to his side. The two then magically intertwine, causing Rumple to go "mad" because of all the voices in his head.
Back in current day Storybrooke, Emma finds out that Neal and Rumple were linked and agreed to use her magic to separate them so Rumple could defeat the Wicked Witch, but splitting the two meant one could not survive — in this case, Neal.
Before Neal left the world, with his last breath, he gave Emma back her necklace and asked her to tell Henry he left the world as a good man and not just as “the jerk who abandoned him.”
So. Many. Tears. This was just as bad, if not worse, than the LAST time he "died"! Though this looks like it's going to stick!!!
It didn't have to end this way!! It just didn't!
