Captain America: The Winter Soldier really is captain of America!
The superhero franchise conquered ALL its competition at the domestic box office and in the history of any domestic April release EVER.
The sequel to the Disney/Marvel theatrical collaboration debuted with an ultra impressive $96.2 million, beating out 2011 record-holder, Fast Five, at $86.2 million.
Oh, and Captain America: The First Avenger??! The first installment made $65 million it's first weekend — which was already impressive enough
The earnings hike probably has to do with a growing loyalty to Marvel and the INSANE special effects we all remember from the first installment, but the promise of the combination of Scarlett Johansson's pre-pregnancy curves and the Chris Evans' built bod certainly couldn't discourage people from going to the theater either! LOLz!
Congratz to everyone involved!
Maybe Chris should celebrate with a lap dance…nekkid??! On our laps??! We'll hold his shield for him! LOLz!
