This somber realization sounds straight out of a It's A Wonderful Life.

We reported earlier that Mickey Rooney only had about $18,000 when he died, but according to a source, he may be worth more dead than alive.

According to this insider, Mickey's stepson Mark could stand to make millions through endorsement deals:

"Mickey named his stepson, Mark, along with his wife as the sole beneficiaries of his estate…This includes using Mickey’s name and/or likeness in the future. In Mickey’s will, he specifically stated that no one from his family, including wife Jan, or any of his eight children, could profit off his name. This was left to Mark…Although Mark isn’t currently seeking endorsement deals or possible products to align Mickey’s name to at this point, it’s something that will definitely be looked into."

We're glad to hear that Mickey, despite his financial woes, was really worth millions. The man was a living legend and he will be dearly missed.

From what we hear also, Mark had been taking care of Mickey at the time of his death. So what do you think of this?

Well I'd say at his age when he died, 18000 is not too bad. Pretty good actually. At least the guy wasn't a blood sucking leach like you. I'm sure you have a ton of money, but what talent did you use to get it? What you are is an ugly homo. That's about it.

Not too sure about what out of touch with reality, space world you live in (actually I do) but to the majority of people in the world, that's the majority, not the minority like your parasite ass, if you die at 70something, I don't know what age he was, with $18000 in the bank, while you managed to keep yourself alive up to that point at the same time, that's pretty damn good. You have to remember he's an average person these days. Most of his true fans have died by now.

I've made $80,000 so far this year working online and I'm a full time student. Im using an online business opportunity I heard about and I've made such great money. It's really user friendly and I'm just so happy that I found out about it. Heres what I do……. YELLWORK.COM

Rooney's old paystubs would pale in comparison to the stubs of today's actors. Many of the older film and t.v. legends are likely just scraping by. I think I read that the actor's union has done a bit to help cover the situation, but am not sure. If his estate can make some coin from his legacy, they should. I think that's why he left it to them…to help them.

Re: @v@ – He was 93 I believe I read - would love to live that long but not probable. It is tough when you are retired and living on a fixed income, but I am a bit surprised that he did not have more money. Maybe he had to cough up a lot in his divorce settlements, just not sure.

Actually he had $18000 in personal funds but millions upon millions in trust funds set up many years ago…
