Hell hath no fury like a James Franco scorned!
James took to Instagram to absolutely bash Ben Brantley, a New York Times theatre critic, who gave a less than stellar review of his new play Of Mice and Men!
It's since been deleted, but in his caption he calls Ben a "little b*tch," and in all caps:
“SADLY BEN BRANTLEY AND THE NYT HAVE EMBARASSED THEMSELVES. BRANTLEY IS SUCH A LITTLE BITCH HE SHOULD BE WORKING FOR GAWKER.COM INSTEAD OF THE PAPER OF RECORD. THE THEATRE COMMUNITY HATES HIM, and for good reason, HE's an idiot.”
Wow, the gauntlet has been thrown down!
What did Ben write about James that got him so pissed off?
"Though he sports a Yosemite Sam accent, Mr. Franco is often understated to the point of near invisibility. It's a tight, internal performance begging for a camera's close-up. And only in the play's second scene — in a bunkhouse, where Lennie retells George about the dream farm they'll someday own together — did I sense a warming current of affection between the characters."
Well, looks like Yosemite Sam's temper has been awoken. We'll track this feud and see if these two will eventually duel at Weehawken at dawn!
