Bryan Singer is fighting against the allegations that he raped aspiring actor Michael Egan.
But he isn't fighting alone. Another teen actor who spent a lot of time with the X-Men director has his back.
Matthew Smith, best known for his work on Disney's Wizards Of Waverly Place, is now 24 but says he also met Bryan when he was just 17.
The openly gay Matthew says he and Bryan spent a lot of time together, including a good bit of alone time - and in all that time the director never once touched him inappropriately.
Now of course, for example, defending someone accused of murder by saying "he didn't murder ME" is hardly proof that someone isn't a murderer, but Matthew does make a decent character witness.
And speaking of murder, Matthew does not like Michael's chances in this case; he feels fairly confident that his friend will be exonerated. He says:
"He'll get murdered in court."
We worry we can never know the truth for certain. We'll just have to wait to see how the court case resolves.
