One Direction displayed some AH-Mazing cloning effects in their newly premiered video for You & I, but now, it's being called a total rip off!!

Let us explain, faithful Directioners…

Australian production company OhYeahWow noted that the Ben Winston-directed vid looked a lot like another clip made for Australian band Clubfeet.

In a recent statement, the company claimed its similarities, while staying on 1D's good side by shedding compliments left and right:

"Late Friday night whilst we were busy observing the good traditions of the public holiday, something very suspicious was brought to our attention. It seems that the chaps of One Direction have taken it upon themselves to regurgitate our original concept, as seen in our award-winning clip for Clubfeet’s Everything You Wanted. Don’t get us wrong, we here at Oh Yeah Wow are big One Direction fans and are envious of their ability to maintain flawless hairdos. To be crystal clear, OYW has nothing against creative evolution. Artists constantly reinterpret other works that have inspired them and we’re fine with people taking a technique and using it to create something new…The wider problem is, that plagiarism and copycatting is becoming increasingly common and acceptable."

The band hasn't addressed the accusations of plagiarism—but with the internet a flutter, we're sure they'll have to soon!

Ch-ch-check out both videos and decide whether 1D ripped off the original idea…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Not a copycat. Both videos used the same special effect, 1D only used it at the end. Anytime a movie or a music video uses the same special effect are we going to call it a copycat issue?

Ok, I´m sorry, but how do you know Ben has even seen this video? it´s one effect that is the same, not even an unusual one. We even worked with it in filmclass. I think people might be overreacting actually. It´s not plagiarism, so… sorry "Clubfeet".

Clearly they got the idea from oh yeah wows video tho. That tumble and the jumping off the box after someone strategically placed it is a little too close to be a "style" similarity.

Ok for starters how so we know that their director has even seen this or know about this other band and they have done other things like changing the faces so Ben could have had the same idea without even knowing this other band
    From a dedicated Directioner

I'm Australian and I've NEVER BEFORE IN MY LIFE heard of Clubfeet and One Direction do NOT "copy" or "plagiarise" other artist's music video, honestly I don't even think they ever seen Clubfeet's video before. One Direction are always themselves in their music videos and they are original, I'm sorry but I honestly think that the people who accused One Direction of copycatting their video are just looking for attention.

They're just focusing on the box jump, but any director would want to include some sort of jump with this effect. Other than the jump, nothing else is similar in the directing.

Also, even if ben winston did see the video, why would he willingly choose to copy it? He obviously has creative ideas (Story of My Life/Best Song Ever MVs), and he would be aware of the potential plagiarism accusations. In my opinion, Ben WInston was simply inspired by the effect.

Ok so first off, there are similarities in the two music video, but there are still differences. One direction is a big boy band i do not think they would steal other people's work. They may have seen it they may have not, lets not jump to conclusion. When filming it looks as if they are using the same filter and it seems as if it's vintage but in Clubfeet's music video they had mattress and other people and other props in there video where as one direction did not. Sorry but I do not think they copied Clubfeet's work.
