I don't even watch American idol but this guy sounds like an ahole.. Not appropriate to use the R word under any circumstances and I think it shows he's not ready for the spotlight boohoo fans are suggesting songs how are you going to handle it if you actually win?! #bye

What do you expect from a 23 year old hill billy with no exposure to other cultures or people. He is talented, but this will haunt him forever. I can't believe people still say those kinds of things, especially in public. What an idiot. I hope he gets the boot.

Didn't you use the f-word some time ago and never apologized ?

What does idiot does not understand is that he is in a competition where they will tell him what he will do as long as he is under AI contract. He is stupid to think he has artistic freedom, he will sing and dance like the puppet he is. I don't believe his half assed apology.

    Is he meatloaf's child??

You're right. He should have called them f*ggots like you did with Will-I-Am.

So sick of the overly puritanical hypocrisy that runs rampant in the PC crowd who feels they can continuously choose which words they want to regulate to offensive word status while imposing other terms in their place that have no real definitive meaning. Mean while terms like idiot are fine but retard is some how a terrible term to use even when it's properly, in a derogatory way or not, implied. Retard simply means arrested development, and the way it was used was proper in a way of stating this gentleman feels many of his critics come from a place of arrested development in the way they try to critique him. It's called an equal counter balanced critiqued opinion of people who have harsh words to use with out much thought of substance. I find most often people who are easily offended, need to be, and need to find a way to get over themselves.

to all the rabid calen haters -> Caleb Johnson Apologizes To Fans: “I Am Truly and Deeply Sorry” (VIDEO)
From Afterbuzz, the outlet that brought us the Caleb Johnson interview where he called his fans a derogatory slur, comes an opportunity to apologize. Caleb spoke with Afterbuzz after the Top 4 performances last night.

The entire experience, Caleb said, has been “so humbling.”

“I’m grateful as a person,” he explained, “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the love and support of my fans. That whole interview was not in any way, shape or form, directed towards the people that love and support me.”

“The unfortunate thing about that is I used a very inappropriate comment that hurt and offended a lot of people.”

Turning to the camera, Caleb said, “Guys. I am truly and deeply sorry that I said that comment. I did not want to hurt or offend anybody.”

Having learned a “really powerful lesson” from the experience, Caleb declared, “You’ve just got to live, and move on, and learn from your mistakes.”

The rest of the interview is all about Caleb’s performances last night. Watch it all here:
