Mel Gibson's Domestic Violence Conviction Could Be EXPUNGED! Is The Superstar Getting Off Easy After Viciously Beating His Baby Momma?

mel gibson domestic battery conviction to be expunged oksana grigorieva attack vicious racist tirade

After serving three years of probation, completing 16 hours of community service, and undergoing 52 weeks of counseling, Mel Gibson might finally get to wipe his slate clean.

With his probation ending, his lawyers are filing paperwork that could EXPUNGE the battery conviction from his record!!!

In case you forgot, Mad Max Mel was caught on tape in 2010 telling his then girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva that she dressed like a "pig in heat" and suggesting she might get "raped by a pack of [n words.]" In 2011 he pled guilty to battery and admitted to striking her with an open hand. She alleged he was even more violent than that, saying he punched her in the mouth!

A hearing is set for later on this month, but since Mel has done everything the judge has asked it's expected the actor will be allowed to withdraw his plea and clean this horrific smudge off of his criminal record. Permanently.

Ugh, those are harsh crimes!! All these years later we imagine Oksana is still haunted by the memories of her abuser's torment, so is it fair that Mel gets to wash his hands of all this?

Is the former A-list actor getting special treatment for being a celebrity and being awesome in the Lethal Weapon movies??

We don't know, but just because the courts are erasing all record of the time Mel Gibson beat up Oksana doesn't mean YOU have to!

He can live on in your heart as a vicious domestic abuser for as long as you deem necessary!

Oh to be privileged and White in the good old USA. He can expunge all he wants but his antics are embedded in our memories.

What is the matter with you? He was charged with misdemeanor battery - for a single hit or slap in the face (depending on who's story you believe)…NOT a beating. This was not Chris Brown level. Yea. It was a crime and he took responsibility for it. Didn't fight it. Gibson served the sentence given by the judge, which you did not bother to publish. He has not had any other physical altercations since then. Kept his nose clean. Quit drinking or smoking. Took care of his kid and kept his mouth shut publicly about his ex.
Like ANY ONE in California, rich or poor, famous or not he is LEGALLY entitled to file for the case to be dismissed (expunged) after successfully completing his probation, fines, and sentence.
You should be more respectful of his efforts to improve. It's tough to do after such a big public failure. I've more respect for him than you.

expungement is a very common and American process. People who AREN'T famous are able to get their records expunged all the time, and don't have to have these demons follow them the rest of their lives.

I was just googling around, wondering what Mr Gibson has been up to after screening "Lethal Weapon 4" in anticipation of the series reboot; and I somehow ended up here.
First off, I'm no perez hilton fan(no caps because you don't deserve them, sorry. Maybe try for fame based on your own name and talent) but after skimming this article I find it shameful that he persecutes celebrities they're just trying to live their lives. It's pathetic. If we as a society chose to ostracize every person who'd ever been in legal trouble for domestic issues, DUI's or made an off color racial slur; then I'm guessing there wouldn't be many people left to hold the grudge. It's ridiculous to hold celebrities to this unreal standard and then publicly humiliate them when they fail to hold up to that scrutiny. There are better forms of negative reinforcement and more effective ways to curb that behavior as a society. Making examples of celebrities' personal mistakes isn't a viable way to improve our lives, just a way to point a finger and absolve ourselves.

Oh and btw; I find it even more offensive and racist than Gibsons drunken rant when I hear words like "Cracker" or "Honky" or "Beaner" or "illegal" etc and that seems to be ok with everyone? African American comedians, and even everyday people use those words with impunity and people even laugh! Reverse racism is so rampant it's not even funny but apparently most people would rather worry about what some celebrity said when they were drunk during a DUI stop, than what's intentionally being broadcast as comedy.
