Will there be any upside-down kisses between Andrew Garfield and Shailene Woodley? We need to know!
According to Marc Webb, the director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, there were actually a couple of scenes, including one between MJ and Gwen that almost made the cut (keyword "almost"):
"There was one little scene at the beginning where she is next door and it took place right around the montage where he comes back and there was another little moment between Gwen and MJ. But it just tipped over. The relationship between them [Peter and Gwen] is so sacred and so powerful, that it just didn't feel right. And it sucks because Shailene is such a f**king great actress and so cool and magical but it was just about having this obligation to this romance that I thought was sacred. It was just one of those things."
But…but…but…but what about the future? Maybe something could happen in the future, right? Right?
Wrong. It looks like pesky scheduling might be getting in the way of any future Shai cameos:
"Well, Divergent is a massive hit and I think it's going to be tricky for schedules."
No! No! No! This is not what we wanted to hear!
We love Shailene, and we love Spidey, and why can't these two just sling some webs together, eh? Eh?
