We just released a groan that would put Marge Simpson to shame.
In a recent interview, Patrick Carney of The Black Keys went on a tirade against Michael Jackson and the posthumous release and success of Xscape, calling it 'bullsh*t':
“It’s the classic story of Dan and I. We want to have a #1 album, but Michael Jackson releases something from the grave and cockblocks us.”
Nice way to respectfully talk about the dead, Patrick! We're slow-clapping you real hard over here.
Meanwhile, at the 2014 Hangout Festival, the other Black Keys member Dan Auerbach expressed his frustration as well:
"We got a new record that just came out this week. We hope everyone went and bought it so we can beat Michael Jackson on the Billboard charts."
Dan even went so far as to say to Rolling Stone that it took 3 whole years to make MJ's music "listenable":
“[It's] some f*cking bullsh*t that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable. Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released.”
Yikes. Just yikes. We get they want to be number one, but their words might be a little insensitive.
