Britney Spears' Las Vegas Sound Engineer SWEARS She Sings Live…Sort Of!

| Filed under: Music MinuteBritney SpearsWacky, Tacky & True

britney spears lip sync

Even though we have definitive proof that Britney Spears is lip-syncing during her residency performances in Las Vegas, front-of-house sound engingeer Robert "Cubby" Colby pinky promises that she is singing live.

Cubby swore:

"Britney sings every song live, but there are additional tracks when they're doing the heavy dance numbers. Snapshots give Marc the security of knowing that these levels that they work on so hard translate to the live environment."

It's just plain silly to fib when you then go on to confirm there might be some lip-syncing.

We're not saying we mind that she's too busy shaking it to sing, but we don't appreciate his attempt to fool us.

So she sings along to her to a track? Just like Beyonce did with the national anthem. You didn't seem too upset when Beyonce did it - why the double standard?

Ha ha, "translate into the live environment" = lip syncing.

All artists sing along to a track it just depends how high that track is turned up or not. I bet Britney thinks she's singing live the whole time but the engineers just have that shit turned up too loud.

Singing to a backing track is standard practice. I don't know what everyone gets so worked up about. Maybe it was too loud, but really…who cares!

So basically, you are saying the guy is a liar. Would you repeat that in his face ?

Here's a star that has turned her train-wreck lifesyle around to become a beautiful successful woman. Kudos to her. Yet some have to continuously bash & it-pick at every thing she does,

Britney will soon collapse mentally. She is paying off a debt she owes to her Jewish managers and they will run her into the ground.

As some said before me, everybody in mainstream music business sings to a backing track, no matter how loud it is. But for some obscure reason, when they all do, they sing 100% live with no hint of lip-synching whatsoever, while when Britney does, she definitely lip-synchs and live singing is totally out of question. Basically, Britney, Gaga, Beyoncé, Rihanna and pretty much every well-known artist do the same, but out of them only Britney lip-synchs. Why that? Because her sound engineers mix the sounds in a way that the backing track is often louder than the live track? So what? Britney’s sound engineer is not Britney herself, obviously. Her part is singing, dancing, being the MC and leading the show, not mixing sounds or managing lights or sewing costumes or whatever other practical job. She’s only responsible for what she does. If people have a problem with her backing track being too loud, hence the idea that she’s the only one who lip-synchs out there, then they should go talking to her sound engineers and/or management.

Re: Kerry Louise – Nonsense. It's typical of Nazis to bring Jews into the equation even when they don't have anything to do with it. Besides, a star might have debts with the whole world, but certainly not with her managers, A manager doesn't work for an artist if he isn't paid. They just don't work on promises.

Britney does sing…every song! It's a not so industry secret of replacing her voice that is likely being used on stage with a pre-recorded track. A gate processor is being triggered by her singing. When she sings, the backing track plays through the speakers. When she stops…it stops…so it looks more realistic. Chris Brown was one of the most recent artists to admit using that type of setup and I'm sure he's not the only one.

    Shut up Perez.

It's kind of sad where even singing to a backing track is considered industry practice. That said, it's strange how Perez has done a turnaround on Britney. I guess the checks from her camp have stopped rolling in???
