It looks like Sony will not be putting out The Interview at all.
In a statement, the studio said:

We're all super excited to watch an engorged Jamie Dornan pillage & plunder Dakota Johnson's booty in what will undoubtedly be 2015's most erotic film, Fifty Shades of Grey, but it wasn't too long ago the world had a different leading man in mind!
Sons of Anarchy's scorching hot star Charlie Hunnam was once tapped to play top dog Christian Grey — with an emphasis on top, LOLz — but he eventually abandoned the production because of a shooting conflict with his hit FX show.
Some speculated his feet had grown cold at the prospect of risking his career on an adaptation of a pulpy E.L. James novel that might feel dated by the time the movie was set to release, but it turns out the 34-year-old Brit genuinely wanted to be a part of the film.
More than that, it was "heartbreaking" for him to turn it down!!
“I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn’t have taken it on in the first place. When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it’s heartbreaking not to be able to play him […] It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life.”
Aww! We're curious precisely how he planned to bring the character to life? With whips and chains and ball-gags, we hope!
Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters February 13, 2015 and we can't help but wonder whether Charlie will have the stomach to even sit through it!
