Hopefully his condition will improve at some point. But right now it seems like everything is status quo.
The 30 Rock and SNL actor was taken to the intensive care unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center, and his family has since gone to the hospital to stay by the beloved comedian's side.
"[We] don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today. He sustained these injuries in an accident that occurred early this morning as one of several passengers in a chauffeured SUV …His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care."
The company Atlantic Transportation Services, who owns the limo bus that Tracy Morgan was traveling in when it was struck by a tractor-trailer, has also released a statement about the accident that killed one passenger in Tracy's limo bus, James McNair, and injured three other passengers as well - including Tracy's assistant Jeff Millea, Ardie Fuqua, and Harris Stanton.
Here is what Atlantic Transportation Services' statement said:
"Although the investigation is still pending, we concur with the preliminary reports that the accident was caused by another vehicle traveling behind the Atlantic limo bus. We are grateful that our drivers did not sustain life-threatening injuries."
Tracy's former SNL cast-member Rachel Dratch tweeted out support for Tracy, writing:
"Shocked to wake up and read that @RealTracyMorgan is injured. Love to Tracy and wishing him strength."
The Mindy Project's Ike Barinholtz also tweeted:
"Come on @RealTracyMorgan pull through this buddy"
We absolutely agree, and we really hope Tracy Morgan is able to fully recover from this terrifying and upsetting accident.
