We don't raise our glass to this lawsuit. At. All.
A man from Long Island may have had a bit too many of their Iced Teas when he was filing this lawsuit, as he has just sued a female singer for being too "old, ugly, and untalented" for being in a Pink cover band.
Um — RUDE MUCH?!
Oh, did we forget to mention he's suing her and her band mates for $10 million? Oh, well, he's suing her and her band mates for $10 million. BECAUSE THAT MAKES SENSE, RIGHT???
“The really insulting part is he said I would harm the public because I can’t sing and I’m too unattractive to front this kind of a band. I don’t think it’s his place to tell anyone that they’re not good looking enough to follow their dreams.”
This lawsuit sounds like a bad joke. We hope she creams this soulless misogynist in court. Don't worry, she's countersuing, y'all!
In his ridiculous lawsuit, lawyer and guy who brags about drumming on tour for Michael Bolton, Charles Bonfante claims that she was selected by his collaborator to perform in the band against his will:
"McLafferty was a mediocre vocalist at best…She had pitch problems, oftentimes singing flat for extended periods of time…She didn’t look the part, or at least contribute to the overall aesthetics of the band."
This guy just sounds awful. Just because Collette was chosen against his will, doesn't mean he gets to sue for $10 million! What cover band is worth that much?! Also, he has no claim to Pink's songs…they're her intellectual property!
Someone's "idea" to start a cover band on someone else's music isn't worth anything in our opinion, and suing someone over their looks is absurd.
Although she was only paid $75 for this gig, now Molly has to deal with this lawsuit filed by a guy she reportedly didn't even meet:
“I get to fight this for the next two years, according to my lawyer. I’m going to be broke, and he’s going to have a hobby.”
And she believes, like us, that Pink would be just as offended by this lawsuit as she is:
“I think her advice would be to stay strong, not to slink back and not let anyone bully you.”
Exactly. We hope the internet responds in kind and helps Molly fund this lawsuit somehow.
