ZOMG! Is this really happening?!

Zendaya has just been tapped to portray Aaliyah in a Lifetime original set to premiere this fall!

Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, the working title of the film, is the first film about the beloved singer and is based on the bestseller, Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.

Zendaya will be recording four of the Are You That Somebody singer's songs for the film and filming is supposed to be taking place this summer! We know Aaliyah fans hold her songs near and dear to their hearts, so we wish Zendaya good luck in recording these babies!

Although the Replay songstress may not be everyone's first pick to play the original R&B princess, Z does have the vocal talents and great dance moves to do the role justice!

Zendaya had an impeccable run as the youngest contestant on Dancing With the Stars and her record, Replay, went platinum this past January!

If that isn't enough to convince you this up-and-coming star is right for the role, we don't know what would!

They should have picked Lisa Tucker not only can she sing and act but her striking resemblance to the late great Aaliyah is undeniable…sorry Zedaya…Lisa Tucker should really have the job!!!
