Hank Williams III Thinks Tom Hiddleston Should NOT Star As His Gramps In A Biopic! Find Out Which Actor He'd Prefer Play The American Legend HERE!

Whatever happened to Southern hospitality?

Remember when we told you Brit heartthrob Tom Hiddleston had been tapped to play American music icon Hank Williams in an upcoming biopic? Well, Hank's grandson — country star Hank Williams III — ain't on board with this selection at ALL!

Hank3 thinks Tom is the wrong man for the job and that the role should be played by something with real rootis in the American South.

Someone like…

Matthew McConaughey!

Yup, Hank thinks Matt was brilliant in Dallas Buyers Club and that the role should go to him!

While Matt was indeed AH-Mazing in his Oscar-winning role, Tom is a TERRIFIC actor in his own right! And the whole thing about acting is that it's pretending to be someone you are not!

We're sure Tommy boy's Southern accent could sound legit with some work.

Hank (the first), who died in 1959, did a bunch of drugs, drank a lot of booze, and wrote a lot of quality songs. We imagine the biopic will focus on that.

So stupid!! Tom is a great actor, he is the better choice. Did anyone complain that a British actor, Daniel Day Lewis, played Lincoln?

This shouldn't be a question about American root but much more for features of faces and the acting skill.

(the first)? … we call him hank, sr. in the south. and he's probably rolling in his grave right now at the thought of having a hollywood movie made about him.

Tom actually favors HWJ more than Matthew. I think Tom will do a great job. And just cause Bocephus is the grandson, doesn't mean he gets a say. I think all will be surprised at the portrayal. Hell a brit played Scarlett to the tee, it'll be fine.

and Stephanie, there have been several movies and tv shows portraying HWJ in the past and his grave seems to be intact. I'm sure he's amused.

actually, just realized we aren't talking about JR, but III. my mistake. Either way, III can just get over it.

You have done me a favour posting this, thanks Perez. I didn't even know Hank III existed but I checked out a lot of his songs after I read the article and I love his style and his music. As for who should be the actor, it should be whoever fits the part best. It ain't Matthew.

    Re: Bevi
His music is fun but be careful going to his shows if you ever get to see him live. I've had to work two of his shows (I work at a music venue). I've never called the cops so many times due to fights and unruly drunk customers as I ever had ever in my life lol. Probably more fun if you don't work at the venue he plays. We had "Knife Check" instead of Coat Check collecting people's utility and pocket knives lol.
