Clothes never define the type of person you are, they're confident enough to wear that and little girls need to look up to people like that and they look great everything's fine

You are so shady Perez, these girls were like 5 of the what 20 artists that actually respect you, and you go ahead and write a bad article on them. Go fuck yourself.

  12. Ashley says – reply to this

    12

Just because they are confident enough to wear stuff like that doesn't mean you get to shame them. Don't kill their confidence you ignorant ass wipe.

I think it's really brave that they can wear clothes like that. They learned to be confident in their own skin. I want that too.

    20

Yeah but would you care if boys made a shirtless video? Smh… God forbid girls show confidence with their bodies…

  21. Sophie says – reply to this

    21

The most inspiring thing about this girl group is their confidence. I'm proud to say they've helped me with my body issues. It's a shame old men like perez can't accept that these wonderful young woman of different shapes sizes and skin tones are confident with their bodies instead of ashamed like the media wants them to be.

  22. celine says – reply to this

    22

nobody gives a fuck about what you think they are confident enough to show off their great figure so let them. a girl should be allowed to dress in whatever she wants wothout getting sexualized. and next time you wanna give your opinion on them at least learn how to spell CAMILA's name right thanks

  23. lulu says – reply to this

    23

all you do is trash people.. well these five girls are idolized by millions. they're confident with the way they look and there is nothing wrong with that

  26. Mackenzie O'Hara says – reply to this

    26

If it was a group of young men nobody would pass any heed but because it's girls it's inappropriate and shameful.. Stop the double standard Perez. I also find your sexualisation of these young girls quite disturbing, their legs are not something sexual I don't know why you're making them out to be? Finally I think you'll find they're wearing shorts. Can't wait for Bo$$ though.

  27. Kay says – reply to this

    27

They'll be legal adults soon sooo….

  28. 28

To all the kiddies who commented here - let's not confuse confidence with desperation. If they were truly confident in their music, they wouldn't have to take off their clothes to get attention. And this is not slut-shaming. Slut-shaming is when a woman or girl is unfairly criticized - like when a rape victim is blamed, or when a woman is denied birth control. Using the term to justify selling sex undermines all women.

  29. aa says – reply to this

    29

well they already have said that their innocen is wearing thin(should have clothes too)

  30. Ash says – reply to this

    30

What they are wearing is fine. First I think it’s important to remember that their target market isn’t young girls, its teenagers and young adults. I think there is a fine line between sluty and sexy and they are absolutely within the sexy realm without being overly sexy for their age. Second the two arrow shone pointing at Mani and Lauren outfits; they are technically 18 so it doesn’t matter. As far as Dinah and Cam’s they look fine, no biggie. Our society has a bad habit of over analyzing something deemed simple and making more of a complicated issue out of it than they should.

  31. Jess says – reply to this

    31

perez you're a piece of shit, so u think is not ok for them to dress like that cause is too controversial oh shut the fuck up. You should be happy that they're confident enough in showing skin and that's something very common with girls, I still have trouble with that. Little girls will learn from this that they could be confident enough to wear whatever they want when they get older. BTW THEY LOOK FUCKING HOT AND SEXY!!

  32. PREORDER BO$$ ON ITUNE says – reply to this

    32

It's a message about female empowerment which is very much needed, don't you think? This is unnecessary and really shouldn't be controversial at all. Boys are encouraged to prance around half naked, but god forbid girls even consider wearing thigh highs! So scandalous!! Seriously though, chill.

    34

Shut up! This has NOTHING wrong. When it comes to guys you do not say anything. But when it comes to women is a scandal ugh I am very angry. And what about jenners? This is stupid… Normani & Lauren are 18. & It's ***Camila! AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SONG AND VIDEO. I am VERY EXCITED AND PROUD OF THESE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS!!!.

  35. micaela says – reply to this

    35

Re: rosebud99 – Several of the girls have expressed their self doubt about their weight or appearances on several occasions; for fucks sake Camila wasn't comfortable unless she had a bow placed atop her pretty little head. It is wonderful that these girls are attempting to overcome any self doubt they may have had in the past or even still experience and becoming confident in their bodies, the way they present themselves, and their abilities. If the girls were desperate, I doubt they would have the confidence to shed a few inches off their clothing in order to provide a sex appeal. The sad thing is our society loves the sex appeal and loves to hate people that showcase it, especially on young adults. The girls are not "selling sex" they are dressing in a more proactive way, yes, but wearing shorts and crop tops is nothing near sex nor are they encouraging or bashing others to dress that way. The girls' target range has never been young children, but teens and young adults such as themselves. When I was younger I would have loved Fifth Harmony because despite their different body shapes, sizes, and skin tones they are confident, and a lot of people their age and my age fail to find that within themselves. CONFIDENCE is something they're all learning to embrace and showcase, desperation is what you left in that comment to the people that look up to them.

  36. 36

Oh and for the record, they can dress however they want

  38. 38

Re: micaela – Sorry - not buying it. 'Confidence' and 'empowerment' are not defined by taking your clothes off. Go take a course in women's studies and you might just learn something.

  39. Asia says – reply to this

    39

yeah the two that he specifically mentioned are 17 but it's important to remember that the other 3 are all of age, the photo with the two arrows are pointing to two of the girls that are both of age. The specific naming of the two women and than the pointing to the two women in a completely different photo may be a little misleading.

The song is called BO$$. They're just playing the part. As long as they're comfortable who cares? It's not really their responsibility to make others comfortable with how they dress. If you think otherwise, then maybe you're the problem. Not them.

Illuminati got them.. I'm 18, and i even find shorts unmodest. I honestly don't know what else to say rather than the fact that this world is too sexualized, and it's a sad and satanic world to live in. May God help us.

    48

Lol I always said that they are a whores. They finaly realized that they can't sing together and that they are not popular so they are trying to sell thier music with sex.

  49. Harriet says – reply to this

    49

I disagree with you completely! They are just maturing they can't stay with those bubblegum Pop songs and music videos forever. And the BO$$ music video won't show anything that ruins they're morals. Fifth harmony will slay with this upcoming single.

  50. andrea says – reply to this

    50

You are being BEYOND disrespectful to girls who liked you enough to perform some of their songs on your lame ass youtube channel. I don't understand why you feel the need to shame these girls when instead you should be proud of them for how far they've come. They are beautiful, confident young women who show others that it's ok to be comfortable with yourself. You're just shameful, Perez.

  51. Kristen says – reply to this

    51

you didn't seem to mind when e3 posted a picture of them naked with nothing but an instrument covering their junk

stop slut shaming, it is 2014

young fans SHOULD look up to five beautiful, empowered girls who are confident enough to wear whatever they want.

  52. kasey says – reply to this

    52

not inappropriate at all especially since if they were male it would only be considered "sexy" and the fact that theres nothing controversial about boys 17 and younger on vine are half naked all the time doing "grind on me" videos is ridiculous. the girls look amazing

  53. radharmony says – reply to this

    53

You're objectifying these beautiful and talented young ladies but think it's okay for men to be more than half naked in photos and videos that are posted all over social media. There is no equality there at all and women are not sex objects. Fifth Harmony has found new confidence and their targeted audience are teens and young adults. They are showing women empowerment and not sex.

  54. kill yourself ugly rat says – reply to this

    54

shut the fuck up dumb bitch NOT ALL OF THEM ARE 17 damn. kids these days are getting pregnant and having sex at such an early age so please shut the fuck up. these girls are 17, 18, and 1 is almost 21 OLD ENOUGH TO DRINK. please get your facts straight before you put this shit up in your flop ass website. Also, when guys posts half naked videos its okay for you but when these girls wanna show their confidence its not? lmao pathetic

  55. Hi says – reply to this

    55

I mean really, it's nothing you should worried about. They look great. Also, you're obviously ignoring the portion of the video where they're dressed in victorian-age-esque dresses!

  56. Pat says – reply to this

    56

I don't see anything wrong with what these girls are wearing. I see that what you're doing here is slut-shaming these confident, empowered young women who I believe exude nothing but a positive message of being a boss to your own self to other young women out there. I believe that their target market are not young girls but teenage girls who need this kind of self-empowering example.

These girls are setting an example for young adults. An example that shows women can be strong&independent and most importantly, CONFIDENT in their own skin. And i bet if one direction were bare naked, you would praise that story like it was your religion. Slut-shaming isnt cool perez. WOMEN CAN SHOW SKIN. and im super happy that these WOMEN are gonna be the ones to be an example for girls around the world

Re: rosebud99 – "… The entire concept is actually amazing. There's a scene where they actually ,awk out women to be superior to men in strength to men with the arm wrestling, and people also forget that there's an entire Victorian scene where they're covered from head to toe and still exuding confidence and sexiness. The video embodies the concept that you can be wearing everything to nothing and still command a room and be the boss of your own life. Women need this. They need to know that they're strong enough, and not only that, they're addressing other women of color in society who have made a name for themselves like Oprah and Michelle Obama to show that those are the types of role models that a woman should aspire to be like. You shouldn't wait for a boy and [or anyone for that matter] to tell you that you're beautiful. Make yourself feel beautiful. Make it on your own strengths and strive to succeed…" (via fidgetywhitebitches on tumblr).

    65

Re: rosebud99 – I don't see how that isn't empowering. Maybe if you did a little more research on who you were bashing you wouldn't have anything bad to say about them. Or maybe just listen to the song or watch the clips of the video, everyone knows it's been leaked. They stand for empowerment of women and being the BO$$ of your own life by making your own choices and striving to be confident in yourself and abilities. Pre-order BO$$ on iTunes! :) smarturl.it/5HBOSS

Is slut shaming the only thing you can do? Maybe you should respect them because they are one of a hand full of people who actually respect and like you in the industry.

    67

You don't say anything when 16 year old Kardashain dresses up. You compliment her outfit always. Instead of people putting them down praise them, for showing off their curves being proud of their body. If it was boys dressed in boxers and having a blazer on without the shirt you would praise them and no one would say a thing? Unfair right. I'm sick of double standards.

  68. Angélica Calheiros says – reply to this

I got surprised but teenagers aren't kids. We are allowed to feel sexy and #BOSSy. I can't wait to watch the video, they turned into good dancers!

but the real question is who leaked the pictures? there was also behind the scenes video but it's no longer available.. BTW. THEY LOOK INCREDIBLE <3

  71. 71

Well, age doesn't mean anything to girls. We have known for DECADES that girls are influenced by stars. Look at Rhianna? Need I say more? Even Miley keeps her nipples covered!

  72. IQ is glueeeeeeeeee says – reply to this

    72

1000s of 17 year old girls are only months away from meeting rich men (my mom was 19 when she met her elite man) and they will use their hotness and sexy dress to bring those men to their knees.
I have no problem with them dressing hot as long as they arent using that hottness to seduce white trash. Its not how you dress that matters. Its the kind of men you seduce with your dress that matters. Whats better? A girl who dresses classy but seduces white trash trailer park tattooed junkies or a girl who dresses sexy but seduces heirs, scholars and other assorted elite males? Its not the dress that matters. Its the catch that matters.
