This would be so sad for all of the fans that have already bought tickets!
It was supposed to be a series of happy events.
Garth Brooks planned five comeback tours in and around Dublin but unfortunately the tickets went on sale before being officially approved!
So while fans scooped up tix for the concerts on July 25th through July 29th, two of those shows have already been nixed by the Dublin City Council - the ones in charge of approving permits for shows like this.
The reasons for the denial of at least two shows is because of "the scale, magnitude and number of the concerts" and the "cumulative effect on residents and some businesses."
And while the three other Brooks shows are still in play, they aren't a definite as of yet!
"I can't say for definite that the three shows are going definitely going to happen. It is up in the air. I am devastated."
The reason that those other shows are in limbo is because Brooks' contract with Aiken Promotions was for five concerts - not three!
We hope Garth Brooks and his team will manage to work something out for those three other shows, and we DEF hope they are able to fully refund the 160,000 fans who bought tickets for the two nixed shows and now won't be able to go.
Who knew it would be so complicated to see Garth Brooks in the capital of Ireland?
Hopefully the country superstar will embark on his first major tour since 2001 that he's been promising for so long, and hopefully Dublin is one of those stops on the tour — especially if these planned shows don't happen!
