Shia LaBeouf Didn't Take A Holiday From AA Even For The 4th Of July! Now That's Dedication To Getting Better!

shia labeouf aa meeting fourth of july

He's making progress!!

July 4th is the first holiday Shia LaBeouf has had to face, since beginning his journey in AA early last week…

And we're super proud he's sticking with his sober commitment, even with all the weekend BBQ temptations.

The Transformers star was snapped with his blue Alcoholics Anonymous book on Friday, making his way to a local meeting.

He looked a bit haggard but determined to deal with his addiction demons, head on.

Hopefully he stays on this path for the rest of his life, because he's clearly doing better without the bottle!

STOP buying pictures of him like this!!! He deserves his privacy. Do you want to be part of the reason why he quits going?!? Let him heal and figure out what he wants to do with his life.

It's an ANONYMOUS program. We are not to be identified in the media. Please respect his privacy!!!

    Dedicated? It's called 'court ordered'.

Re: Haze – It's not. And how would YOU know ?

Re: E – It is not. A lot of people admit they are in the program.

    Re: Suhisfitsudjit
It is suppose to be anonymous for those who want to remain that way. It is one thing if someone wants to admit it, but it is a different story when that person is being followed and photographed without their consent.

Re: SuhisfitsudjitRe: Suhisfitsudjit – Because I obviously have better insiders than most. If Shia wants to get off with a slap on his wrist for his latest infractions, he must finish a program with a pre agreed amount of hours and a sign off from his counselor.

It doesn't matter if it's court ordered or not. 12 Step programs are meant to be anonymous no matter what. I wish you would stop posting pictures of people attending these types of meetings. It's not classy :(

10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the A.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.

11 - Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.

I respectfully draw your attention to this Anonymity Letter to Media from the General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous:

"…we respectfully request that you continue to cooperate with us in maintaining the anonymity of AA members. The principle of anonymity is a basic tenet of our fellowship. Those who are reluctant to seek our help may overcome their fear if they are confident that their anonymity will be respected. In addition, and perhaps less understood, our tradition of anonymity acts as a restraint on AA members, reminding us that we are a program of principles, not personalities, and that no individual AA member may presume to act as a spokesman or leader of our fellowship. If an AA member is identified in the media, we ask that you please use first names only (e.g., Bob S. or Alice F.) and that you not use photographs or electronic images in which members’ faces may be recognized. "

He's in a position where his problems go very public, unlike the rest of us who screw up and feel embarrassed looking our family and friends or. Colleagues in the eye later. Leave him alone. And yes it is anonymous unless the member chooses to say something. Invade your own closet.

what?? he gets big cudos for not taking a drink on the 4th?? We do it every holiday. They are all just days that people have labeled as party days. No big deal!! unless you keep making it one, which will hinder progress.
