Umm, perhaps Garth Brooks should brush up on the whole comeback thing.
In an announcement
everyone no one saw coming, the country singer announced five scheduled concerts in Ireland will no longer take place.
Prior to the announcement, there was a lot of conflict between the residents of Dublin which may have contributed to the cancellation. Some argued the tour would bring a much needed economic boost to the city, while others complained the event would be too noisy.
The company that organized the tour, Aiken Promotions, said in a statement:
"It is with great regret that Aiken Promotions today announce that the five concert Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event at Croke Park has been cancelled. No concerts will take place. The ticket return process will be outlined tomorrow. Aiken Promotions have exhausted all avenues regarding the staging of this event. We are very disappointed for the 400,000 fans who purchased tickets for the Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event."
We (and the fans!) are sad to hear that Garth and the city of Dublin couldn't reach an agreement! We hope he will be able to visit the Emerald Isle soon!!!
