One monorail trip unexpectedly turned into a dark ride on Sunday night as bad weather left about 120 passengers stranded in a power outage!
Their chilling challenge? To find a way out! Their monorail had no windows and no doors…that they could use to exit safely!
Disney World guests on one of the monorails on the Epcot line had to be evacuated when the futuristic train stopped moving! Now, THAT sounds like the wildest ride in the wilderness!
In fact some had to exit through a top hatch and walk across the top of the monorail cars with a safety line.
Whoa? What is this? Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular?!
They were all then lifted down with a mechanical lift! This sounds scarier than the Tower of Terror!
According to a Walt Disney World spokesperson, bad weather was the true cause:
"Due to weather, there was a power outage on the monorail. There's currently one train on the system without power and all the guests are now off the train."
Several passengers mentioned a possible lightning strike as the source of the power outage! That's as eerie as the Haunted Mansion!
Thankfully everyone was safely evacuated and no one was hurt!
