After its quick and sudden death by Sony, The Interview has been given new life.
Free speech for the WIN!
Of course, not every theater is willing to show the movie.
So the major question is WHERE can U see it??
Although Latta, South Carolina's police chief Crystal Moore was fired by her mayor Earl Bullard after he allegedly blasted her lesbian lifestyle as "questionable," she has since been rehired!
"All around the street were people cheering me on, wanting me back. People that I had locked up were here saying, 'You've locked me up, but you've done it with dignity and respect. You did your job and you did what you were supposed to do and I'm here to support you.' It was amazing."
If even the people she's arrested before were coming out to support, she must be a pretty terrific cop.
It's sick to think that she might have been fired over her sexual orientation.
After her firing in April, one of the town's councilman who questioned the true reason for her firing started recording the conversations he had with the mayor, whose true motives he found dubious.
In one of the recordings, the mayor said the following:
"I'd much rather have somebody who drank and drank too much taking care of my child than I had somebody whose lifestyle is questionable around children, because that ain't the damn way it's supposed to be."
The mayor has since denied that he was referring to Crystal but another gay employee who had quit, and that Crystal's firing had to do with insubordination.
Crystal denied this however, and stated that she believed his true reason for firing her was a lot more sinister:
"There was no insubordination. tried to work with the mayor. I did not disrespect him. I did exactly what I was supposed to. His personal vendetta, his personal beliefs is what got us into this."
In the end, Crystal was sworn in again on June 27th! Congrats gurl!
