happy birthday benedict cumberbatch fans attempt sherlock holmes record

Well, this is certainly one way to celebrate his birthday!

Fans of Benedict Cumberbatch got together in London on Saturday to record a birthday shout out for the famed actor because, why wouldn't you?

But, what makes it that much more special is that the fans did it dressed as Sherlock and may have possibly, probably set a world record!

How cool is that??

The 113 attendants had to be wearing a cape and have a magnifying glass in order to be considered as taking part in the world record attempt, which is currently under consideration by the judges!

However, the get together at University College London wasn't JUST for Ben's birthday or to break a record!

The group gathered due to their support of the Undershaw Preservation Society which is currently undertaking the task of preserving the former home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, aka the man who created Sherlock Holmes!

So, a birthday wish for Benedict, a possible world record, and some harmless fun in the name of a worthy cause? Sounds like a great day to us!

Ch-ch-check out the attendees in costume (below)!!!

Actually they were there for the Undershaw project. The real effort by Benedict's fans were donations to the charities he supports in conjunction with his birthday. Collectively donations by fans were £25,000 and still counting.
