Don't Think Deborah Cox Has What It Takes To Sing As Whitney Houston? Once You Hear THIS You Will!

whitney houston biopic vintage deborah cox sings i will always love you

WHOA! Not anybody can successfully imitate Whitney Houston's voice…

But it seems that Deborah Cox isn't just anybody because she can do a DAMN good cover of The Bodyguard's famed song!

Thank gosh, too because she's set to sing for YaYa DaCosta in the upcoming Lifetime biopic about the famed singer's life!

In this totally vintage YouTube video, Deborah sings Whitney's version of I Will Always Love You and she's absolutely blown us away!

No one will ever do Whitney perfectly, but Deborah surely comes close!

She's absolutely brilliant! They couldn't have chosen a better singer for the job!

Ch-ch-check out her vintage rendition of the song…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Look at that range! She's perfect for the film!

We can't WAIT to see (and hear!) the final product!

If you are going to do voice over in this movie, why not Whitney's voice? Makes no sense!

This might sound like a stupid question but why couldn't the producers just beg Whitney's label to use Whitney's voice in the movie. Lifetime movies are cheap and very low-budget and that is the same way they appear when they air. Too bad HBO did not do this movie. At least a decent budget would have been given and the cheeziness that Lifetime movies are known for would have been omitted. Nobody wants to see an unknown actress play Whitney and lip-synch to Deborah Cox's beautiful but crusty voice.

Dolly Parton did it first, and I prefer her version but both are good.

Whitney did not write the songs except Queen of the Night. It's a family thing. I think Deb sounds wonderful. Whitney did a duet with her a few years ago and the almost sound alike. It was the same with Cee Cee Winans . They are the only 2 women in my opinion that come close to Whitney. If Diana Ross covered Billie (sounds or looks nothing like her) and those guys who did the Temptations movie who did resemble and sound like the Tempts..Give Deb and YaYa a chance. This is not the end of all movies to be made about Whitney. Angela is the Queen of biopics …Tina, Rosa, Coretta,Dr. Betty Shabazz to name a few. I doubt if she would serve up some BS. We can't bring Whitney back. I wish we could but Deb will do fine. My only complaint is the casting of Bobby..Tyrese can be in the big screen version..peace
