Deaf Family Runs Over Comic-Con Attendees Dressed Up As Zombies — 0 Left Undead

Scary!

Whenever large groups of people get together, there's always a higher chance for something bad to happen.

And that was just the case at the 8th Annual Zombie Walk that took place in San Diego yesterday for Comic-Con.

When hundreds of fans dressed as zombies took up an entire road, and then proceeded to block traffic, one driver quickly lost his patience.

After honking his horn multiple times, the zombies started to get angry and banged on the black Honda Accord's windshield.

Once a few seconds of this went by, the driver simply stepped off the brakes and drove through the crowd!

While no one was killed, a 64-year-old woman who wasn't even part of the zombie-related festivities was taken to the hospital to treat a broken arm.

But what really takes this story to the next level is that the driver and his whole family is deaf.

He claims that his two young children were scared by the mob, and had no choice but to go forward.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first traffic-related incident that has struck Comic-Con before. Two years ago, a woman was killed trying to get in line for a Twilight event.

At first glance, the video might make it look like the driver is completely at fault, but the crowd didn't really help the situation.

One man sits on the hood of the car and then punches the windshield out after the car starts moving, while another actually opens the passenger side door.

There have been no arrests as Police are not sure who to blame.

Our money is on Carl being at fault. It's always Carl's fault.

Ch-ch-check it out (below)!

"the driver simply stepped on the breaks and drove through the crowd!" Not only did you spell brakes wrong but brakes don't make a car go when you step on them stupid. Get your head out of your ass fucktard.

Not that I am advocating violence, but if you are stupid enough to walk in the middle of a street that has not been closed to pedestrian traffic, then I have no sympathy for you if you get hit by a car.

We have laws in this country, and just because you are dressed like a Zombie does not make you exempt. I am truly sorry the lady got her arm broke, but again, STAY OUT OF THE FUCKING STREET.

With the amount of money this event brings in, the City needs to make the promoters hire traffic control during the event. Duh. This is standard procedure for any festival event in the middle of nowhere, you'd think the city folk would have this figured out by now.

Re: GabbyJohnson – regardless on the circumstance, you dont drive over a giant group of people. someone could have been killed because this jerk didnt have patience to wait more than5 seconds.

The guy being deaf had absolutely nothing to do with him driving threw a crowd of people. He's deaf not BLIND. That was simply an excuse for him not to get arrested. He was at fault. Even if it was "scaring his children" that's no excuse for you to plow threw a huge crowd of people. I'm sure people only jumped on the car because the idiot hit people. People are always looking for excuses to cover up their wrong doing

If the ComicCon people know this zombie parade happens every year, they should rope off the streets for it…it's obviously a safety issue for everyone.

Re: cheesuschrimbus – From what I have read elsewhere, they do rope off the streets, but this group apparently spilled over onto a non roped off area.

Uh your deaf and your driving? How are you going to hear people honking at you? How are you going to hear someone yell at you, or hear a ambulance coming? He is at fault, as well as those stupid asses that where hitting his car.

Re: Jj – Do not be ignorant. Most deaf people drive perfectly fine. He is fully responsible for his decision to hit those people but him being deaf has nothing to do with it.

of course it was the drivers fault!!! he should totally be arrested, he should've at least warn the people by advancing slowly, wtf is wrong with this dude!!

Re: taves7 – Let's learn the law first before we comment. It's "Pedestrians have the right of way… in designated crossing zones." If you look, there are no painted lines on the road to indicate crossing permitted; there are no signals to indicate when to cross. Both of those add up to none of those people were in a cross walk; therefore, they were all jay walking, which is a ticketable offense in all 50 states. Now I'm not saying that they deserved to be hit because they didn't, but if you listen to the video, they were shouting, "Hey, get that car! Get that car!" and then started banging on the hood. Nothing will happen to the driver because those people started it first and started to form mob mentality and it will be seen as reasonable means to protect himself and his family. If anyone were injured, they could sue civilly for damages but most likely, a civil court would dismiss the case to once the video is viewed and seen that 1) jay walking is occurring and 2) the crowd was starting to gang up on the car.

Re: GabbyJohnson – Law in California, is that a driver must wait for pedestrian traffic at a crosswalk, which this was…..
