This is sad, but also sort of empowering at the same time.
In the upcoming August issue of Seventeen Magaznine, Ariana Grande opens up about her relationship with her father.
Or at least, the lack of one.
The Bang Bang singer admitted that falling out of touch with her father was hard, but that she's learned how to deal with it recently.
"A lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn't like that about myself.
It's okay not to get along with somebody and still love them."
While it must suck to not have him in her life, it's impressive to hear that Ariana is handling something that serious so well, especially since she's consistently in the public eye.
We're happy that she is capable of appreciating the man who brought her into the world, but just doesn't like who he has become.
