There's so much back-and-forth in this controversial case.
In fact, some think the cops might be flat-out lying

This is basically a real-life version of the The Notebook and NO THOSE AREN'T TEARS STREAMING DOWN OUR FACE.
A couple that was married for 62 years passed away within four hours of one another.
Don and Maxine Simpson from Bakersfield, California, were both suffering from various maladies - with Don having broken his hip and Maxine having a severe form of cancer - so their health both declined around the same time.
The couple spent their final hours together and, wait for it, were HOLDING HANDS the whole time. (Cue all the tears in the world)
Their grandaughter, Melissa Sloan, explained what happened to the couple at the end.
'It's absolutely beautiful, and the story is beautiful. As soon as her body left the room, he left with her and they passed away four hours apart. It's just amazing. It really is amazing. It's a true love story.
I knew in my heart this is what's supposed to happen. Grandma and Grandpa are supposed to be together and Grandma and Grandpa are going to die together.'
So sad yet so beautiful at the same time!
True love never dies!
