Chris Brown's alleged victim is speaking out.
After AMC's Mad Men bowed to critical acclaim, the hardworking Christina Hendricks seemed to become a star overnight.
Her role as sassy, sexy Joan made her a standout in a cast full of phenomenal actors. Obviously taking the role was a no brainer, right?
Not as far as her talent agency was concerned!
"They said, 'It's a period piece, it's never going to go anywhere. We need you to make money and this isn't going to make money.' They ended up dropping me."
But Christina knew there wasn't any point in choosing the "safe" bet. She said:
"I had been on several shows that were meant to be the big ones, that would go on forever, and they didn't. So there was no sure bet. And I'd already taken a chance on them and I felt, why not do the one you're in love with and take a chance on that?"
And that chance paid off. Because it didn't take long for critics and audiences to fall in love with Joan.
Then she got to star in a movie with Ryan Gosling. So, suck it.
