This is why we love Rita Ora– she keeps it real almost all the time!
Remember the drama behind the sudden cancellation of the How We Do singer's performance at the Teen Choice Awards? When Becky G had to step in and save the day?
Well, it was all a speculation before, but Rita confirmed to Ryan Seacrest that ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris really did pull the plug on the televised performance of her song I Will Never Let You Down!
But it doesn't seem like Rita was too surprised by the move. She explained the process over the radio airwaves, saying:
"For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song. So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn't get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards."
Rita wasn't necessarily upset about the fact that the Summer DJ nixed the entire thing.
She was more thrown off by being just told days before she performed– not to mention her fans suddenly not being able to see the awesome performance. Rita said:
"I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know. That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward … It is what it is, man. You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there's some stuff that comes with it … Everything happens for a reason, that's how I look at it."
Isn't she a classy lady?
Not once did she get overly upset and start trash talking about how Calvin was in the wrong and she should've been able to do it.
Stay real forever, Rita! Listen to the whole debacle go down on Ryan's show (below)!
