Though we all have spent the week mourning Robin Williams, the person who was unarguably hit the hardest was Robin's wife.
Susan Schneider finally released her statement Thursday, providing a more intimate look at Robin than any we had gotten before.
But as hard as it must have been to share a message with the world, there's one thing that's just become impossible for her- going home.
According to a neighbor and family friend, Susan left the home she shared with Robin shortly after giving her required statement to police– and won't go back. The neighbor said:
"Susan won't come back to the house. She really, really, loved it here and used to say all the time that it had so much life in it. It's so desperately sad."
The neighbor went on to say that Susan did send someone on a quick trip into the house to collect some personal belongings, but she herself couldn't stand to be there.
In fact, she left town entirely, and has not been back since.
We completely understand. Some places just have too many memories. We hope she finds somewhere that will provide her with a modicum of comfort.
