al roker calls nicki minaj desperate

Al Roker is definitely NOT a fan of Nicki Minaj's booty poppin' ways!

The Today show host didn't hold back when asked about Nicki's sextastic Anaconda video.

Al commented:

“It almost seems like Nicki Minaj has gotten desperate and needs to do something to get her crown back.”

Oooh, those are fighting words! Not only does Al call Nicki desperate, but he also implies the queen of rap ain't so royal!

Al continued:

"It's just vile. vile."

    Lol @ "vile"…who says that?

  2. 2

'Haterade'? Just because someone is telling it like it is does not make it hate. What is hateful is the way Minaj and other rap stars portray women.

    Re: Krystal
Are you 12? What a stupid comment.

Vile is exactly how I would also describe this video…

he's an old, arrogant, formerly fat asshole…now just a washed up wrinkled asshole.
no one cares what he thinks.

What he says is 100% correct. It's a shame how little value is placed upon modestly nowadays. Nobody is watching her music videos for the music and she knows that. Half of these "artists" today are only famous because of their lack of modesty.

Vile and desperate. Sounds about right. That video is the definition of desperately trying to remain relevant. Isn't she like 30? I can give Miley some slack bc she is only 21, but a 30 year old lady twerking is not a good look.

First of all, Nicki is an adult woman. The video is meant for adults. The song is meant for adults. If you are so offended by the sight of nudity (as an adult) and so offended by a woman being proud of her nudity and sexuality, then maybe you're the one with the problem.
Female bodies are constantly under scrutiny. Especially, black female bodies. In the US our society places the highest value on WHITE female aesthetic traits. You aren't supposed to have a large ass, you aren't supposed to adore your own wide-set hips or thick thighs. We tell women in the US that this is not okay, particularly for women of color, to own their sexuality or their bodies. Women are slut-shamed. So if Nicki wants to make a song and video that's basically glorifying these traits that women are constantly shamed for having, then why is that vile and desperate.
It may make people uncomfortable, but I think again, it has a lot to do with the shaming of female sexuality and shaming of the female body.

Where's someone calling black male rappers "vile" for having women gyrating, half-naked all over them in music videos???
It's okay when the woman is the object and the man is in the power role, but when it's reversed you get called desperate and whorey.

Re: cheesuschrimbus – …the song is about receiving a male's 'anaconda' because she's got a big ass. And she's shaking it and showing it off in doggie style. Vile is appropriate.

Re: Jamie – Since when is singing about sex inappropriate? If you haven't noticed pop music is about sex 95% of the time, additionally she is in the rap genre, where males talking about fucking females is present in almost every artists repertoire. She's just not being subtle about it.

There are songs about cheating on women, raping women, beating women, hurting women, fucking women, impregnating women…you don't see men being called out for it practically ever.
In "Anaconda" she literally sampled a song originally written BY A MAN about him not wanting to fuck a woman unless she has a big ass…that is literally the original song…like…*exasperated*
Pardon me if I'm not oh-so-hurt by her talking about wanting a big dick…because with all the hoops women have to jump through, let alone straight women or trans women who are interested in men…Ladies deserve all the giant dicks they desire.

Keeping in mind that this is an adult song for adults, with an adult video, with adult content, with an adult content warning.

Re: cheesuschrimbus – *not "let alone", I meant : In this case straight women or trans women who are interested in men…
